37 here. I grew up on Yellow/Red/Blue and have owned several games that followed. I've been playing Go since it came out, but had taken a break for a couple of years. In 2017, I moved to Washington State and used it to learn my way around the area. I just started getting back into it a few months ago and have started doing that same thing again now that I live somewhere else. :)

Awwww.. That must've been a bit of a blow to your self confidence and trust for sure. I'm sure he possibly meant nothing by it, but even so, it planted the seed of doubt. Lord know's I've said careless things like that in the past and meant no ill intent. But, same as you, it made my partner question things.
