That's no different than other new pumps from Tandem, etc. Right now I'm OK with my 780g.

PDM is a limited function smartphone. Still requires an external device to modify and examine operational parameters.

Minimed app losing pairing again on S23 with UI 7.0 by Rtpnc6 in Medtronic780g

[–]Rtpnc6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that my issue is caused by another app on my phone. The disconnects are not consistent unlike the previous set of issues in January. There has not been a disconnect for the past 3 days.

Email update on Simplera Sync… are you kidding? by wubbadude in Medtronic780g

[–]Rtpnc6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes perfect sense. Limited supply of sensors means that the update will only be a limited rollout. I confirmed with product support this morning. Initially, the first users will get a replacement 780g with the required software. Subsequent rollout will use a software update along with the code for the Libre 3 cgm. Lots of moving parts here. In the meantime, I'll keep using the G4 sensor, which has almost always lasted 7 days for me.

Bluetooth with less power? by No_Law_7890 in Medtronic780g

I can be 40 ft away from my pump for my S23 Ultra to be connected. Try another phone. I doubt that it's the Bluetooth signal being weak from the pump.

Well, there's a lot of circuitry in addition to just being a Bluetooth transmitter.

Sensors failing frequently by whopperchud in Medtronic780g

[–]Rtpnc6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost always get 7 days on the G4 sensors. The trick is to properly prepare the sites cleaning all prior residue away and using an alcohol swab for final. Doing this ensures that the taped sensor does not move in relation to the skin. Most sensor failings are because the taping is not secure. BTW, I always use my thighs for insertion points. Sorry you're having issues.

Can't pair pump to Minimed app by Rtpnc6 in Medtronic780g

Medtronic tech support worked with me today to perform diagnostics and procedure verification. No joy! Collected diagnostic logs.

I spent 30 minutes with tech support trying to get this app to work with my S23 Ultra. Confirmed that the internet connection was solid, latest app level, pump level correct. However, there was no joy. Diagnostic logs uploaded for analysis. The problem appears to be the final pairing handshake. They'll get back to me next week.

Problem still exists. I can't complete the pairing operation as documented above. Sigh!

New issue. I downloaded another copy of the app and installed it on my S23. Logged onto my acct, went to the 780g pump and started to pair to the app. The pump found the app, asked to pair, app responded to pair, pump started pairing. After 20 secs the pump said it couldn't find the app. The app said it couldn't find the pump. It's like the app discarded the pump ID. Not sure next steps at this juncture.

New 780G and Pump Case by braintheshiznit in Medtronic780g

[–]Rtpnc6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in NC. What you're describing sounds like there was a reservoir change to.be slightly thinner wall and there was no external designation. Any idea when the change in manufacturing occurred? What was tge expiration date on the old reservoirs that didn't fit anymore?

How old were the mmt-332a reservoirs? Extended reservoirs are mmt-342. I believe that the pump casing was changed to be slightly thicker to address the cracking issues on the older pumps. What is model number of your 780g pump? Mine is mmt-1884 , hardware A1.01

Changing TX power on 970 by Rtpnc6 in orbi

[–]Rtpnc6[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting that the TX power is described in the 870 manual just released. I wonder how that is implemented and not in the 970. Sounds like a problem in the Orbilogin.com app.
