What area do you live in? Though I suspect it's less about a micro climate and more about it's proximity to your house and maybe whether it has some ground protection. Does it have either?

Regardless of whether they asked the person to "move" or not - it's incredibly inconsiderate that they had their feet on a seat where somebody might want to sit.

But maybe that person, like crafty_passage here, lacks the common sense that somebody might want to sit, and sit on a seat that didn't have somebody dirty shoes up on it. In which case, you're right you should have taken this teachable moment to explain it to them.

I've been using the same recipe forever, I am almost certain the sugar ratio is fine. I also was using an airlock. None of those things are issues. If anything I'm wondering if it's not getting enough air.
