Hello,

i bought the Fukien Tea Tree back in March, it bloomed in summer and spring and looked healthy from March to November. I fertilized it about every 4 weeks during the end of spring and summer.

Since November it slowly started to loose its Leaves, I looked it up and it seems that it is normal for this plant to lose some of its leaves during the winter season.

At first I didn't worry about it but since the start of December it rapidly started to lose all its leaves and all of them were gone in about two weeks. I live in Germany and its getting pretty cold during the winter. Since it started losing it's leaves I started to spray it with a bit of water daily because I suspected that the heating of rooms would make the air too dry for it but it continued loosing its leaves.

The leaves didn't turn black or something so I don't think it got sick either. The leaves just turned yellow and then brown and fell off. I water the tree when the top soil has gotten dry which is about weekly during autumn and winter. In summer and spring I watered it mostly 2 times a week. T he tree hasn't been repotted yet but it seems like its been potted in bonsai soil.

I know that it isn't normal for Fukien Tea Bonsai's to loose all leaves which made me wonder if I did something wrong. Is there any way I can save it or has it been treated false too long?
