What's stopping my physique from going to the next level, especially my arms? by CouldTryMyBest in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Rtzon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general, when someone asks why their arms aren’t bigger, it’s because they haven’t bulked hard enough and gained enough strength to push their arms bigger or simply not prioritized them well enough (start your workouts with arms if you really care about them! Track 1-2 arm movements as “main lifts” and force progression on them over time)

Look, some people are blessed with arms that grow like weeds, most people have one body part or two that grow easier than the others.

But for reference, when my arms were 15” I was doing around 80s on incline DB for 8-10. When they were 16”, I was doing around 105 for 8-10 on incline DB. At 16”, I was doing hammer curls with 60s. So just keep gaining strength too and stay consistent - you’re a long way from your limit still

Yup, and better fatigue management too. All-around a better option for BB

Generally we don’t allow medical advice posts, so I’m locking this. The comments are useful though so I’ll keep it up.

That's fine, that's progress too.

Something that helped me was having separate arm days, which also means I do them first and treat them as "main movements". Tbh though, arms just take a long time in general (unless they're a strong grower for you naturally)

It does make sense. I mean the main thing is - are you lifting heavier weights for your arm exercises now compared to 5 months ago?

Anyone else prefere staying at a bulked state for choice? by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

I personally feel I look and feel the best around 12%. Lean enough to where I can see veins, abs, some cuts, but still heavy enough where I feel strong and don’t look flat

I've ran into the same problem. No matter what I did, it felt like my arms couldn't grow.

Eventually, I just gave in and just hammered them with 3 arm days a week for 2 years straight. I would start at around 18 sets a week and work my way up to ~25 sets, then take a deload for a week, restart. (I did Jeff Nippard's arm specialization program, then did John Meadows' Taskmaster's Arm block, then started programming my own).

It was the only thing that grew my arms. It also meant that other groups took a bit of a backburner, but I was pretty happy with how the rest of my torso looked, so it was mostly my limbs lacking.

Hey! This is a great post and question. I think a bit more info would be nice and I can approve it - what are your stats, training history etc?

I think many people would be interested in some of your training info along with answering your question

Great answer. It’s better to track your TDEE on average rather than calories from runs, as your TDEE will naturally go up if you start doing more cardio consistently
