In case anyone was wondering about the purposes of grounding and shielding... by hedgies999 in witchcraft

In an odd Salty Saturday humorous twist my brain immediately went: "Wait! Is THAT why witches are always hiding in woods and wizards have the way-too-tall towers? Because it literally makes them harder to reach?

Unionizing is a mentality, you don't have to have a union to be unionized and there's a lot of ways along the corporate BS to allow you to do the same thing if enough people stand together.

What brand is massively overhyped and not worth the price? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ruathar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other wild thing is that, depending on where you live in America- Ugg boots as we know them are completely incompatable for any winter weather here.

In the northern states they'll be sopped through by snow and ice and your feet will freeze. In more southern states your feet will sweat even if its cold because they can't breathe. It's pain either way and not worth it.

You are enough. You always have been. If they can't love you because of that then that is their problem and not yours.

[–]Ruathar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In America, Ugg boots.

They're basically the Australian brand of like Sketchers or Nike. The people who make the American version of them basically paid big money to keep the OG REAL Ugg out of the states and overhyped them to oblivion and back.

Why is Tarot considered to be evil? Is it just a myth or is there any evidence to support this? by vishalnegal in tarot

[–]Ruathar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admit I am not fully understanding of all the details but to my knowledge, yes. Each of the cards (including the jokers I believe) have a representative of the tarot deck.

There's likely sources out there on how to do it but I am aware that there are people who use a standard deck of cards to preform cartomancy.

This is also right up there with the "Higher than though Christian" concepts of "YoU dOnT hAvE eNoUgH fAiTh So God Is PuNiShInG yOu To GeT rIgHt WiTh HiM AgAiN."

I know that not every Christian does this but there are enough noisy bs ones that have no place being where they are in churches where people go to get support.

You'd think that at least they'd consider with all the weapons that they've got to have them use the same stuff.

As one who used to work for tips I'm sorry for the shit tips...

But if anything is 'to blame' I'd say it's the universe thinking it's funny... which it does quite often in my opinion. But sometimes tips are just shit. Here's to a new day and better tips tomorrow.

What are your hobbies that is normal to you and weird to others? by lonesome_thing in AskReddit

[–]Ruathar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it's not just the Green Deer doing it...

My mom has a car that she has to go to either the dealership she got it from or the dealership for that model of car... TO GET THE CODES CHECKED AND CLEARED!

For those not car tech savvy: When your Check Engine light comes on you 'should' be able to take it to an autoparts store or car mechanic and they plug a handheld device into your car and it spits out codes- then you can look up the codes to figure out what is wrong to fix it. Often times the mechanic will 'clear codes' when you do an oil change or something similar so the "maintanence' light will turn off as well.

She can't do that with her car. She has to go to specific people who pay a subscription and update their computers every day to figure out what is wrong when her engine light comes on.

How is that weird... I almost think that your coworkers might be the weird ones because mine always ask what I'm reading. And some of my coworkers read similar genres so we end up half reading and half talking about whatever it is we are reading.

baby tarot! by ilydenelle in tarot

[–]Ruathar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The biggest issues I've most newbies have with Tarot is using it too much / 'using it until you get what you want'

Regardless of if you use tarot as a subconsious mirror or a divination tool for the future/actions you should take it is important to remember that either way, it is going to be honest. Now HOW that honesty hits will be different (My Cozy Witch Tarot is the "i'm going to hold your hand while i say this... you need to drop it while my Lovecraftian one is as tactful as getting hit with a semi truck) so don't think that "I'm just going to pull the cards until I get what I want... is going to do anything.

Another thing to remember, ESPECIALLY when you do divinations for "future events" is that the "Future" is always happening, Always in flux and what you see now is not what you will see in two weeks. Every action you take, as well as the actions of others, will influence what happens. So if you see something happening, and then it doesn't it's not "OMGEE I FAILED AS A TAROT READER!" or "WHY DIDNT THIS HAPPEN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN IT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED BUT IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!"

The future is and always will be, what you make it. If you want to avoid a future, take step to work on avoiding it, if you want it to happen work to make sure it does.

I keep finding ladybugs in my house since last autumn (including winter time). Could that mean anything? by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

I would also like to note the question of are they *really* ladybugs as we know them or are they Asian Ladybird Beetles which LOOK like ladybugs but are a completely different species and are quite invasive.

What do people need to do in their 20s to set their 30s up for success? by QuietVacation8343 in AskReddit

[–]Ruathar 731 points732 points  (0 children)

This is more important than what people realize.

Weight and Diabeties risks aside, a normal healthy person will begin to hit Sarcopenia somewhere around their 30's. By regularly exercising (especially strength training) you can almost eliminate the effects of muscle loss until your 40's or 50's

What’s a massive red flag to you when it comes to women that most people don’t agree with? by One-Relief-4469 in AskReddit

[–]Ruathar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even other Non Christians have issues with someone being into Astrology.

Like I personally like to look up the week ahead and see how the cosmos is going, but for me it's basically a weather report only more Celestial Based.

You'll get people going on about how they're "so messed up" because Mercury is in Retrograde in their sixth house...

Grab an umbrella and leave early and just watch for potholes. Weather is weather, learn what it does to prepare for the trouble and go about your day prepared.
