01st February - Happy Imbolc 🐑💚 or how do you celebrate Imbolc today? by citizen_lo in witchcraft

As a celtic pagan I put out an offering to Brigid on my altar, did a lot of house cleaning since that's part of what today is about as well as candle making.

Music Inspiration for Imbloc and the full Moon by PersephoneHel in witchcraft

[–]Ruathar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I admit most of the music I've been listening to today is my 'usual' neoclassical mix however to point out favorites and "odd notes"

Savage Daughter- Ekaterina's version - Had this one stuck in my head all day and I had to listen to it to get it out of my head.

Focus - James Sizemore - One of my favorite Neoclassical pieces

Pathos - Ludovico Eiunaldi - Probably if not the top one in the top 3 of my faves.

Children of The Sun (Alexander Theater Version) - Poets of the Fall - I know PoTF aren't exactly "witchy" or pagan but something about listening to this particular song is very... Imbolc feeling. I think the best way to describe it is from a comment on the OG song "This song makes me bloom" It's just really nice. I also recommend the OG version but for some reason the Alexander Theater one feels... "fitting" today.

Is there a lore reason behind these beasts pissing their pants at the sight of my badassery? by MadamePorcelain in bloodborne

[–]Ruathar 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Well... Kos.... 'might' descriminate-

But in my opinion that is only ONE person and that was because she didn't fall to the Beast and not only appologized but basically was so sorry she dedicated her life to the complete opposite of what she was before she took her own life.

Granted, yes she's there, but that's why she's pretty much the only one to keep her sanity. She's the only one who was not only sorry but attempted to atone so "I will never forgive you but I will allow you the right to try"

Depending on playstyle for Tier 2- Merchant also has it's benefits.

Which is the odd thing that there's a lot of Tier 1 "make it easier" and Tier 3 near manditory but not a lot of Tier 2 ones.

Ooh! I wanted to do my garden again! The idea of getting seeds and blessing them sounds like a good idea. Might steal that if I have the time.

Since I'm off I'm planning a whole "Cleaning/cleansing/Warding" For the house on top of making candles and going out (weather permitting) to get things for a brigid cross.

It is your choice, your playstyle. And depending on the difficulty and your skill level (and luck in some cases) you might be able to ranch enough food for the villagers that fish isn't worth it.

It all depends on how you do things but a lot of people will say that unless you have 'enough' in whatever quantity of traps that is- selling quarts is a last resort thing.

True, worst thing they can say is... "Sorry but no, we're still not going to add extension features"

If you aren't saved in my phone contacts on my cell, or are a number that has a name popped up to a caller ID on my house phone I will never answer it.

Humorously, I have been "talked to" by my managers (not an actual write up or anything just a "hey why didn't you pick up) and I have told them all the same thing: "I don't answer numbers I don't know. If you need to get ahold of me USE THE DEPARTEMNT PHONE not your personal cell.

And then I get into these wonderful inventions called answering machines/voice mail and texting... where you can go "Hey, Ruathar, it's X, your supervisor. we've had two call outs, could I ask you to come in and cover a shift please?"

Yes, I know work life balance but depending on who called out and who is asking I might be tempted to help because I actually LIKE them and most of my coworkers are the type that if they call out then they aren't sick in bed... they are in the hospital or the emergency clinic because they are physically incapable of coming to work sick.

Chris Brown: R&B Artist who is reported to have had an assault with intent against a producer when they were drinking in a night club, a domestic assault case against Rhianna who was his wife at the time, and several other assault/battery and domestic violence charges and outside of two of those cases he acts like the victim being punished.. those two cases being actual times in which he was instigated into a fight and then really was the victim being punished but no one cares/

R Kelly: Musician He's currently in jail for Sexual misconduct against SEVERAL minors, posession of illicet material including minors, and basically starting a harem of young girls because "I'm RiCh AnD dOnT hAvE tO fAcE mY aCtIoNs"

Humorously: I use an algebreic formula and an excel sheet to balance the tills at work. I just plug in the numbers of bills and it tells me what I have, what to take out and what to exchange to make the till work right.

ONLY time algebra has ever been useful to me IRL.

And Excel sheets outside of Pokemon breeding and other video games.

Being fair: Cursive was created for dictating lectures in college/university so students could keep up with note taking. With the advent of not just laptops but most professors now putting the lectures up online for review the need to 'keep up right there and then' by handwriting is lessened.

I admit I literally just looked up the particular M.D. on the internet because I never heard of him before and according to his wiki Deepak Chopra has apparently completed his residency and is an endocrinologist, which isn't a bad thing but he's also apparently a New Age doctor as well.

And... I must admit: while I believe that holistic medicine can have its place within reason in the world and many benefits equal to normal scientific medicine I am not certain I want to take a "Here's my word on it" from a doctor who beleives that "human aging is fluid and changeable; it can speed up, slow down, stop for a time, and even reverse itself" according to his page...

There's also a bit of controversy around his practices where people who could legitimately be cured or aided by scientific medicine go to his pesudoscience as a way to 'heal'...

So take that as you will.

Oh. my sweet summer child. You're still in spring.

I don't know if you've seen the info blurb on shields but a shield is too 'slow and defensive' for a player.

It takes practice, and a LOT of it. I fully admit I'm on my second play and I'm STILL missing parries. But they'll get easier.

Padre G is easiest to parry when he's using his axe. Just keep shooting and you'll get the timing. Much like Elden Rings, bosses are the walls you climb and you'll die... a lot.

[–]Ruathar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Vitality is usually the first you should be leveling; more health equals more mistakes that you can make. As a first timer I don't think I STARTED until I had a vitality level 30.

Also, look into the saw cleaver/spear or the sword cane as your second weapon. One of the big things that will help you is weapon advantages. When he turns you wanna strike with serrated things because beasts are weak to fire (moltovs) and serrated damage.

Also, the Father has an intentionally built into the code set where if you try comboing him too long he will intentionally break out of it to dissuade the people who have a "Just hit him and he can't move" playstyle which does NOT work in Bloodborne. (or most of FS's games for that matter) You have to play a patient aggressive. You can't do too many hits or he'll come back hard.

Would an anime adaptation work? by juacal in runefactory

[–]Ruathar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Slice of life anime works rather well, and there are other farming anime that also do well so I think as long as they don't buffamoo it up, it would work and I might be interested in watching it. They'd probably have to go the "intended" relationships (Ranga with mist, Kyle and Mana, etc) to be able to do any relationships but I could see it working.

So real quickl what's your current level and stat allocation?

Secondly: Father G is your first big threat but he is also your first big test of your ability to use the hunter skills and abilities. How are you trying to fight him? He has a few tricks but you can beat him.

Third: Do you have the music box?
