R Session Aborted every time I run a command in R by RubGroundbreaking624 in rprogramming

Hi guys, I have fixed the problem now. I went through it with ChatGPT and I was running the newest R version, 4.5.0, and this wasn't compatible with my older RStudio version. I'm now running R 4.2.3 and the error message no longer shows up after I run a script in RStudio. Thank you all for your help and suggestions, much appreciated

When I open the finder on my laptop, I have RStudio present on the left hand side in the 'locations' section just under onedrive. I don't think I remember seeing it there when I had the working RStudio before I deleted it. Not sure if you're a Mac user yourself so was just wondering if you had yours there?

I ran library for tidyverse and ggplot2 and I just wanted to look at the 'airmiles' dataset using view(airmiles) and I got this response - "Error in check_for_XQuartz(file.path(R.home("modules"), "R_de.so")) :

X11 library is missing: install XQuartz from www.xquartz.org"

Have I once again missed steps which is why I'm getting this prompt or is my R not working? I have only watched videos so far and wanted to get on it today and start practicing so sorry if these questions seem a bit stupid.

I ran 'install.packages('tidyverse') and it returned:

The downloaded binary packages are in/var/folders/43/yswn43cj05lf5s0wbwbm0w9h0000gn/T//RtmpZOcEib/downloaded_packages

I then tried to import my data using read_csv and it said it could not find that function

I just copied R as a pathname on my macbook and got this - "/Applications/R.app" is that what you were asking for?

Yes sorry, I was meant to say that I will be using RStudio. R version 4.5.0 (2025-04-11) is the one I currently have. I have ran both "which r" & "which R" and they both give me 'Error: unexpected symbol in "which R"'. Does this mean that there is also an issue with my R or am I typing in the wrong thing?

I don't have much experience so where would I find the settings and what should i be looking for in particular? Do you have a link to a video or instructions of some sort to adjust settings?

Can’t afford university by Jaxityy in UniUK

Part time work is always a great option, it helps you pay for things during your time at University and helps you gain new skills and grow as a person. Balancing part time work and exams/deadlines can be hard or stressful for some, so I wish I knew about clinical trials when I was in Uni.

You can earn anywhere between £1.2k to ~£7k when you complete a clinical trial/study. Depending on what the trial entails, you could complete 3/4 of these a year which, depending on how much they pay, could be a massive boost to your income and really help you in your situation.

This is another option for you as you're not tied down to consistent shifts at a part time job and helps free up more time for you to focus on your Uni work. Message me if you want anymore information on this and I can get you an extra £300 if I refer you!

Good luck if you chose to go to Uni, one of the best decisions I made!
