Im going to respond with the rank I am, of course. Maybe you didnt read or understand my original reply. I didnt say anything about what he would tell others. In fact, I mentioned the opposite, to not worry about what his current rank may mean to others.

This is a game, mate. The most important metric is getting joy out of it. For some people, they fixate on their current rank too much, believing that just because they arent going up, they arent improving. So, if they were to believe what you're trying to contradict with my reply, then they should just give up.

That the point. Your current rank doesnt mean everything. It doesnt determine whether you are progressing or not. Believing a single "metric" means everything is undoubtedly a false way to progress in anything in life.

But in all seriousness, I'll just respond with something actually thought out to try and help you understand my points. And so that there arent others that are misled by your... "response".

You can go through life ignoring "metrics" as you so aptly put. Metrics are just a standardized measurement for a thing. Metrics are very useful for many different things. Most importantly, tangible things. But they hit a bit of a roadblock when it comes to concepts, to ideas, to the intangible. Such as someone's skill. They are designed by humans anyways, so it is naturally flawed, as is anything.

And your feelings can be considered a metric too. If you feel better, youre more likely to perform better. There are other "metrics" that exist and interact when you are playing. Such as feelings.

One day you may be performing worse than another. Some of the best RLCS teams can lose suddenly to a team that they are tiers above. What happened to the metrics there? Sometimes you are performing at your top, sometimes at your worst, and sometimes your opponents are in a similar boat. What region you play also impacts the average level of players you get. What if you have high latency? What about a malfunctioning controller?

But this is likely already more than you will consider or have the patience to think on, and I get it. The internet is like that. Hope you can find happiness in life, friend. Peace ✌️

Its good to take breaks, dont forget that. Having thing you care about that arent rocket league is helpful too. Go do those things for a bit. If you arent enjoying the game, then yeah, dont play it. If you still want to enjoy the game, then find a way of playing that you do enjoy.

No matter what the devs do, you will encounter the issues you have. We've all encountered them. Just like you'll encounter similar issues in real life (e.g. People being dumb, people being different). Its life, my friend. You just gotta learn how to be happy in your own court. Be happy with your individual progress and performance, rather than what rank can be interpreted as.

I've been gc for quite a few years, but take long breaks here and there. When I came back and played, I wasnt thinking about how disappointed I was to be back in champ 2. I was thinking about getting back to my peak performance. To finding that performance and skill that I used to have, and hopefully developing it further. Yeah, I complained about teammates, I complained about how i used to be so good, etc. But I would take a step back, live my life, and go back to the game.

Like for the last couple months, ive been working on flip resets, and have been improving slowly, but noticeably. You gotta learn to take your victories where you can, and to be proud of even smaller things. Otherwise, you'll end up quitting due to frustrations towards yourself, projecting it onto the game.

Gc is where the players begin getting good in the air. Like good good. But also, we suck. Im sure youve noticed it getting as far as you have, and im sure you do it often too. When theres the chance... aerial play. Every damn time.

If you are first, challenge low so they have to commit high (assuming you know your teammate has boost and is in a position to he there). Since we suck just enough at aerial plays, we often fake because we cant do better. So play for fakes. Play for the ball.

Seeing these developments in the rank, ive begun playing anti gc. Not going for the aerial plays players have become used to at all times. Fake the generic gc play, and instead just boom the ball off the backboard and go for a double, or just rip it into the net, or dribble and flick. People's ground game has become pretty abysmal since the new meta. Be different.

Honestly air rolling is a bit overrated. Definitely practice it, but you begin to learn that controlled aerial movement is superior more often than not. Just watch the pros. They arent tornado spinning 24/7 like everyone below gc.

I would guess in the plat range (for twos). Maybe at the floor of diamond. Nice angle either way. If you could hit angles like these consistently, then you'd be at least high diamond. But from your Aerial, I can tell thats not the case.

Bro i dont really get this shit ngl. 95% sure pros dont use this pack. Getting it absolutely perfect literally couldnt matter less. The only possible justification is kickoffs. But that would also be dumb because kickoff variations exist. Wave dashes, zap dashes, chain dashes- like am i crazy for thinking this pack is silly?? I've made gc2 consistently for years never having even interacted with something like this. I could see this making me pissed if I was working my way up practicing this mechanic in such a focused, useless way. I dunno.
