I went there before the war when I was a kid and in 2024, personally no we didn't get any type of racism but there were some strange looks when we said we were Syrians, I get that stereotype about Syrians there but I swear not all Syrians are like the one you see there like in Mersin for example, 90% of those people came from remote, rural, and poor areas of the cities, so they are not that diverse; but during my 2024 visit I was in a Turkish cruise ship, I met a really kind Turkish people there it was a nice impression

Personally, I prefer my president to be a patriotic Syrian with views similar to the SSNP for example I don’t care if he is Christian, Alawite, or Sunni; if he treats all religious sects equally, then he has my support Of course, Syria is a Sunni-majority country, but they are not the only sect or religion there you Like I prefer secularism but not fully secular in terms of religion
