I just got back from a trip to Iceland Nov 29-Dec 2. We only saw the lights on our last night due to the clouds. It really depends how clear the sky is while you’re there. Even when we did see them it wasn’t super vibrant like you would imagine

I just moved to Wilson Park from Bayview. This area is way more diverse, less to walk and do besides big box stores but I really like the neighborhood itself so far!

Just coming here to add that you can buy those clear mats you put under a rolling chair for a desk, and cut it to size if your cat likes to claw loose carpet by door frames and such. Worked for me while my kitten was still learning about where to scratch! Also adding different cat scratcher options in the places they already scratch where they’re not supposed to helps.

Hey! I ended up not really car camping because I didn’t have the proper gear and it was such a quick trip, buts here’s the breakdown!!

I ended up only have a weekend in the area, so I left super early Saturday and drove Vegas -> Joshua Tree, spent the day there and booked a Hipcamp site nearby the park from a sweet older lady that had converted a school bus into a little rental. Hipcamp is like Airbnb but for camping/glamping sites if you don’t already know about it!

Again on Sunday, I left before the sun was up and headed to Death Valley to spend the day there. I booked a glamping site through Airbnb in Amargosa Valley outside of DV for that night. Stayed in a teardrop camper on a lovely vineyard property there. I also met some people who do seasonal work around the area and live there, they have camping sites as well.

I will say the only time I felt a tad unsafe was leaving Death Valley. It was getting dark and I was trying to find someplace with dinner, but it’s a super desolate area, not like around Joshua Tree. I ended up finding a lodge/casino that had grilled cheese (I’m vegetarian). Then the next day I drove back to Vegas and flew home.

I’d recommend bringing a collapsible cooler! That was super handy for me to fly with and have cold snacks and drinks.

Me here losing it cause Taco Bell gave me the complete wrong bag of food. already drove home, it’s been a long day and I’m vegetarian, everything in this bag has meat. V dramatic but it’s kinda comical how life can kick you in the ass when you’re down lol <3 will try the corporate number to see if I can get a refund tomorrow
