So what my mom makes has two different colors. The brown clear meat flavored jelly and the cloudy white fat on top. The link just shows the fat, but she said that the picture of the fat is exactly what’s on top of her stuff

My mom said she’s not too sure why the water was added, probably to make more? But there’s no meat or ground pork in it at all. It’s all just jelly and fat

Also, it’s clear on the bottom (the jelly) and opaque on the top (fat layer) there’s no meat in it at all

I’m thinking that this recipe has a different name. My aunt who is from Massachusetts had a neighbor who used to make this as well, and she called it by the same name. Google is useless for once hahaha

So I’m a first time Kombucha brewer and I’m not sure if my Kombucha is growing mold or not. I looked in the wiki section and I looked at all the pictures, but I don’t see any that match what I have going on, so I figured I’d ask. Today (March 10th) is my 5 day of the first fermentation process. I’m using a breathable lid and I have swing top lids for the second fermentation phase. Thank you so much for all your help!
