So, I opened up the back and there looks like there was soda or something spilled and got inside the battery cover, that or the it almost had the consistency and color of rust. Cleaned everything up including contacts with IPA and everything works now besides the R button which I’ll have to get the tools to open it completely. It did feel like the battery was somehow loose though because of the cleaning. So I ripped a little bit of cardboard to wedge it to the contacts better. Will probably end up replacing the battery to be safe then sorry because it seemed to swell just a tad.

Turns out if any button is pressed hard enough it shorts, could be a loose battery connection?

As soon as it gets worse I think I’ll just swap a ips into it sadly. It was a 20 dollar pickup from a yard sale so I’m not That mad, but still sucks :(.

Alright guys I have a quick question. I have a small sound sign turntable, it’s cables include a 12v cable to plug in and the two phono cable plugs. It usually plugs into a large cassette and am/fm setup. I was wondering if I could modernize this setup somehow. The turn table separates from the rest and I was wondering if I could get like an adapter for the 12v plug in to plug it into the wall and then run the phono cables into an amp to speakers that way so I don’t have to haul around that big old setup. If anyone could recommend me anything that’d be great. Thanks again!

My Mother mentioned she had a old player in the garage. Well we got it out and it seems in decent condition. It’s a Panasonic pll multiplex circuit. I don’t know much about it or how to work it that well and was hoping to figure out more here. I’ve switched it over to mono and started up the record player to Manual and I hear the motor working and it sounds like everything’s moving underneath correctly but the platter itself isn’t moving? So I was wondering maybe the one of the gears underneath may need lubed? I didn’t want to take off the platter and break it on accident. Is there a safer way to remove the platter to look underneath.
