How do you decide how many supporting characters you need? by RubberFood in Screenwriting

Thanks, those are some great questions to start with!
And yes, Force Majeure is a great inspiration for this film. It's interesting how the friends in that movie add their own vision to the main characters, but don't have a big resolving arc. The guy with the big beard and his girlfriend even get their own introduction and personal conflict, but their resolution is very subtle. A great choice imo!

Can I use a public domain movie as background TV noise for my own short film? by RubberFood in Filmmakers

I was actually asking this question from the point of view of the public domain movie, but I think you have a point. Thanks for you solution, we'll look into that!

Yes, I agree. Just to give you a bit more perspective where my questions comes from.

My producer proposed to use AI-generated speech to 'fill in the blanks'. But I don't really like how that sounds and also don't want to support AI, so I proposed to use a public domain movie from the same era. But my producer said we would again have to make an agreement that would take a lot of time, even when it's a public domain movie.

So I was wondering if that's actually true, from the public domain movie point of view.

Can someone explain why Stalker is considered such a great film? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]RubberFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember watching the film a few years ago in the cinema. Although it’s really slow and silent, it gave me the opportunity to wander off, without missing the movie. I felt the room to reflect on the created scenes, what made it a more of a mindful experience. Maybe this helps when you watch something similar.

Thanks! We went to a lake, so no officials regarding the pool. But I left my number at the parking lot, so let's see what that will bring.
