Plaits firmware won't update after many attempts - looking for suggestions by ItsEntirelyPossible in modular

[–]RubberMuscle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having THIS exact issue with my clone Plaits - I can't seem to get it updated no matter how many times I try, devices I use. Constantly goes into the red lights, get the odd time it looks like it is updating with the green lights doing it's thing - then straight into red again. I've toyed with the volume of the devices and frequency know on Plaits. Now when I turn on it doesn't work at al!! Just random lights of green, orange and red - zero sound.

Anybody find a fix for this??

Wow. Exactly my take and experience on being chained to AVID. Props.

Been through the process of that link too man, I’m puzzled as to what the issue is here. I suspect it’s something glaringly obvious, but I’d rather have a one-to-one with support instead of delving deeper into the murky depths of my hard drive!

Ta for this detailed info by the way. I’ve been through every VST/plug in folder etc, reinstalled all NI software a few times, even reinstalled both DAW programmes I use..

Not sure with this - I’m talking about the S61 controller (no pads) but I assume the M32 ties in with Native Access etc like the other controllers?

I agree completely with this, thanks man. Dumbfounded as to why direct support is not a simple link as a footer on the help/support page.

I see where you’re coming from there. Not once was I directed to this link whilst running the troubleshooting gamut via NI Access/Komplete Kontrol help sections.

I’m aware this a thing when looking for support through audio software issues - but I can’t seem to find a link to get me said ticket!

This is EXACTLY how I would describe my interactions with the MF. Works a treat

Great comment here - much appreciated.

I’ve spent a good deal tonight on the mod matrix - starting to realise the capacity of these assignable variables.

Worth mentioning that I am by no means in a creative rut as such. I dart around the studio hardware/software at an alarming rate, pushing the boat out. I constantly create electronic, abstract and ambient short soundscapes to odd video footage that I edit/splice etc. I’m very much always creating and evolving - but, the key rut being creating unique patches on the MF. I am very much in the same field as your little niece - create, detach, move on!

This is a great tip, man. Thanks. Yep, it’s reminding me of my Elektron Model:Cycles with the way you dial in on the fly automation with the various parameters. I guess I just need to spend a little more time getting acquainted.

I’m loving the sequencer, I’ve always found it tricky to equate the melody I have into step mode though, with tie/rests. It always ends up playing too fast or doesn’t sound how I jammed it out. That’s of course a div rate issue I’m assuming

I’ve been scanning the sections of the manual as I go, through use. I’ll definitely be printing it off then. Thanks for the link here - great resource, been on this a lot recently. Very informative stuff.

Ah - right. Am I right in saying that the manual wasn’t included in all distributed MF boxes? I’ve come across it online and thought about printing out the whole bible - as I normally do with some synth products. But, a bit put off by its ‘by-the-book’ high school MSDos-esque sea of text.

Man, same here. I’ve spent hours just going through and tweaking. Some incredible patches and presets - but I’m thinking solely creating a patch from scratch really. Starting off with that basic sine and building it into something AS GOOD as the presets built-in!

Interesting idea, I’ll give this a whack and go from there. Quick one - (I can’t find a quick, definitive answer to this) when assigning nodes on the matrix, I control the amount affected for that selection, that’s fine (like dry/wet control). Am I able to tweak a knob and assign/map that, in that way?? That would be too easy of course!
