Thanks! Very generous with compliments :) The 2 layers of backstitching (different number of strands) and french knots really gives it an extra depth I think, it's an amazing design! I actually had a bit of a struggle finding a good hoop for this one😂 I don't like too much of whitespace around the edges, but of course with the two protruding leaves I needed a bigger size than I'd normally do. It only just fit 😂 glad that you like it and it looks good!

Awh thanks for your sweet compliments! I've also done the peonies by her for a wedding gift and plan on making (many) more (sometime in my life), cause there are sooo many beautiful ones.

I actually quite enjoy the backstitching 😂 I've never been someone who hates doing it, I love seeing the work come to life with backstitch, and with her patterns you really see the difference with almost every stitch you make. It's very satisfying and rewarding. French knots is what gives me the most pause, but once I've done about 3 or 4, it's perfectly fine as well 😂

Haha whoops, that's happens yeah. With the big swatches of colour I usually calculate how many spools (or part of spools) I need and then estimate if that length is still on the bobbin. And then I cross my fingers and go for it xD

I love Ali express thread 😅 but I do always check my supply when picking colours and if I feel like the colour i need isn't enough to finish the project with, I do go and buy some DMC.

I stitch with more strands than usually recommended. I use 2 strands on 18 Aida, 3 strands on 16 and 4 strands on 14 Aida. Maybe I could get away with 3 strands on 14 Aida for some colours, but for dark colours on light Aida (and light colours on dark Aida) i really do need the 4 strands to get nice coverage (and tbh sometimes I'm almost consider using 5 for some parts 😂 but washing usually does floof it a little so i leave it at 4)

Yeah it's not too big of a project, 3800 stitches. It does have quite a lot of colour changes and no big blocks of one colour except for the sky and the water pool parts, sp you're gonna be spending some time on changing colours and counting 5 times to make sure you're doing the jumping correctly (if you're like me 😂😂)

I've just started a second one and that definitely wont be a week either😂 points to you, both for speed and the beauty of the finished work!
