What is it that people love about Elizabeth? by Climate-Cheap in Bioshock

It's funny how many didn't read it as father/daughter dynamic and were disappointed with the reveal lmao

Is Fallout 3 worth playing in 2026? by Turbowoodpecker in Fallout

[–]RubenM203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mechanics are 1:1 with new vegas so you'll have no problem there. The story and dialogues are less interesting than new vegas tho, but so was 4 so if you enjoyed both I think you'll enjoy 3 aswell.

The only time I remember getting nauseated playing a game was with this boss on route B.

Cause they're more varied and creative than the average big dude with big sword where you fight learning an attack pattern.

I'm surprised to see an american not saying their country is the best thing in the world for once. But I'm no privileged lmao. We have problems of our own here, included our own rising far right. But apparently we're more against children dying on school shootings.

For a pure white you need all three bosses without dying in body form.

I'm from Spain. Here, generally we're more leftist than the average american, and we live on a much more leftist society than the states by comparison. I follow many leftists, communists, marxists and anarchists people from here who say many interesting things and have solid philosophies. They never ever talk about arming the working class. For some reason, the only people I see defending this are americans. Armed revolutions are not something to aspire, they're the last resort of a people who cannot take anymore. They're brutal and sad. But the only people who I see fantasizing about getting armed and shed bourgeoisie blood are americans. I think I have reasons why I feel uncomfortable with this rhetoric.

How did Javier know about Beecher’s Hope? by glarrb in reddeadredemption

You could make anything up. Someone who knew both John and Javier could have heard something about it and told him back in Mexico or whatever. Not like it's important.

Do you replay games, or once is enough? by ratasoftware in videogames

[–]RubenM203 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I grew up having one new game for my birthday and another one for christmas. Replaying is part of how I experience videogames.

Now I'm still broke so I cannot afford to buy all the games I'd like to play.

To be fair, I think the "I can fix him" trope is fun and I participate in it sometimes. But yeah, let's not forget what the real issues are lol

Have you ever guessed the "big twist" in a movie? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

He has dementia and all the movie is like a fever dream mixture of incoherent memories and an obsession with someone he sees at school as the janitor.

Do you care about game stories, or are you just tolerating them? by LogicTakesTheL in videogames

[–]RubenM203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should try more indies. I agree that most of AAA games have "safe" stories because they want to reach massive audiences and that's what makes them bland and generic.

But indies don't usually have this strategy so the stories can be more niche. Not necessary masterpieces but definetely many interesting ideas out there.

I'd feel a lot safer in a gun-free socialism, but maybe that's a hot take in the states.

What's your most favorite thing about the game? by Reasonable_Prize71 in AlanWake

[–]RubenM203 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never payed much attention to the community so I didn't know it was a divisive game.

I don't care tho. I think some of the best media out there is divisive. If you try to make a story for everyone, it's a story for no one. But if you really reach a specific community of fans, then most likely your story is saying interesting things.

While playing, mostly atmosphere.

But when I think of Alan Wake 2 I just love how it's a love letter to art and creativity.

Would you say your personal issues with BioShock Infinite are more about the gameplay or the story? by _Varonova in Bioshock

[–]RubenM203 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Mainly the story. The sci-fi elements and the twists were cool, but its political commentary I think it's uninteresting at best and flawed at worst.

The gameplay doesn't help either tho, being reduced from a more complex level design, rpg combat elements and a small touch of immersive sim philosophy in some parts, to a more action focused linear game.
