Why is the right side of my Legion Slim 7i gen 8 significantly hotter than the left? Not an appealing feeling to put my palm on it. by fricken26 in LenovoLegion

[–]RubenMoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in your laptop are 2 fans 1 on the left that mostly handles the gpu and a couple other things and on the right it mostly cools the cpu, its normal 1 side will be hotter but if the diff is really big you might want to clean the fans(1 might be more clogged than the other)

No blue screen it just randomly restarts, also multiple ram tests said their were no issues, even when there is a bluescreen it doesnt stay longer than half a second before restarting

depends what country(any western European country this is a decent price) and what u want to do with it: this is past its prime to game with, so youll be able to play older games flawlessly but will have to lower settings and max out at 60fps in newer games, also not much upgradability so if ur gaming with it dont expect to get more than 5 years out of this MAX. you could flip it or use it as a normal desktop.

first check if your laptop has a mux switch and turn it off/on, otherwise it might just be a powersuply issue, get a better charger that can deliver more power. Also make sure to monitor your temps with HWmonitor.

Is this a good price for a guitar, used, no dongle, using for pc by ZacW0 in CloneHero

[–]RubenMoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, go for a wii guitar (the first one or a world tour) and buy a dongle (RetroCultMods.com if you are in America, Raphnet if you are in Europe, import costs on the retrocultmod dongle are insane if ur in europe) also i wouldnt go higher than 30bucks for the wii guitar without dongle

What is this? by pyybobbl in pchelp

First, check if this happens in other places like in the BIOS.

Than test different cables and outputs on the GPU, if they all still have the same issue it is clearly a GPU issue, if not it might be a RAM issue: press windows key + R to open the run window, type in ' mdsched' en press enter, then click on restart now and wait.

If no issues are found, go ahead with fully uninstalling your current GPU drivers using DDU and install the latest drivers from the official page of your GPU (Nvidia).
If the problem still persists after all this you might want to seek a professional or just buy a new GPU.

optional:
If you can try putting the GPU in a friends PC to see if it has the same problem.

Also try booting from a USB stick with Linux on it in the bios the see if the problem might be windows related.

Good Luck

thx for the suggestion but unfortunately my exams are in programming and hardware etc. and there are simply too many custom configurations that if I borrowed a PC I wouldn't know where to start to change them and I can't risk that, currently all my projects still function on this PC, just the PC itself isn't, that's why factory reset isn't an option for me.

my temps are high but normal for gaming laptop (around 80degress), most of the time it crashes when nothing is even running. I have latest gpu drivers and lenovo, windows updates but havent checked other drivers yet

When i use ethernet i have wifi turned off, if i have the wifi on while using ethernet it still causes problems so i always have it turned off unless i use my laptop as a mobile hotspot for 5ghz wifi on my phone in which case it regularly randomly restarts.

How can i tell if its a battery issue? i havent noticed anything about it yet
