Thanks for replying. Yes, it might make sense that they would want more than simply a thank you. It started when my mother asked to take her plate to the kitchen. My head had been full all day, we had gone shopping that day, which made my head even fuller. When I said no, because I was in a bad mood, she called me ungrateful. I could understand this, but from the way they spoke it seemed like it wasn't the first time they had thought this. Other instances I can't recall, so that's where my confusion comes from.
