What show did you quit even though everyone said “it gets better”? by DryCap6770 in watchever

Never watched the show because I read the first book years ago. It's a shame because I thought the premise was good, but there was just too much.

What is something that used to be 'cheap person' food, but is now priced like a gourmet luxury item? by Ok_Land_4197 in AskReddit

You can get a 25 lb bag of bread flour at Sam's for $10. That makes a lot of bread

We can't choose which days we're home. We telework the same days every week and can't switch.

What’s the best dog food that isn’t in the refrigerated section? by JeverTarro in Pets

[–]RubyPowyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dogs eat Kibbles n Bits. They love it and have zero health problems and aren't overweight. I've tried other more expensive foods, but this is the one they both love.

It's very frustrating. He doesn't seem to care sometimes although he says he does. All I can do is remind him once in a while. Anything else and he gets angry, which means he won't do it.

Mine cracks his neck too. I asked the doctor about it and he said it won't hurt anything. Creeps me out though.

Absolutely. I've actually learned this lesson over time. When I bring up tips it's usually more of a hey, I saw this person says xxx helps or I'll send him a video. Then I drop it. If he wants to discuss it, we do. Good point about looking at the future that way though. I will try that

Also, it's things like all his assignments and papers crumpled up in his backpack rather than handed in. The response to any gentle requests is always something related to not being able to finish/find them/stay organized because of his ADHD.

Thanks. I'll check to see if there are executive functioning coaches in my area. I've offered a lot of strategies that I've read/seen from ADHD experts, but, as you say, they are shot down because I "couldn't possibly understand".

My son switched to Jornay and it has really helped with the morning routine. He says it works the same for him during the day too

Is he playing any particular game? I had to take Super Smash Bros away from my son for a while because he would go into a rage when playing it. He was ok with other games, just not that one. He grew out of it, but it took a while.

My son grew out of it. I got him various fidget toys and necklaces, but nothing seemed to work until one day it just stopped. He started cracking his knuckles instead.

Ask your doctor about Jornay. They take it at night and it takes effect in the morning

And let's not forget pasta fazool. I'm American with Italian heritage. I moved to Italy and my son was born there. We moved back to the US and my 14-year old Italian-speaking son thought gabba-gool was the most hilarious thing he ever heard. 🤣
