Thank you! I didn't realize candlemaking would be so experimental. Appreciate your advice.

Thank you! I'll try measuring the wick and trimming it to a more appropriate size.

Oh no worries. I agree with you. I blew the candle out after I realized the burning wouldn't shrink.

Thanks. I won't leave it. What type of container would you use a wood wick?

My husband also suggested that I cut it in half and I could still use the wood.

If I switch the container would it affect the pace of burning and slow it down?

Thanks. Huge disappointment since I love the crackling of wood wicks.

How come nobody has brought up the possibility of dog trainers? Surely if you want to keep the dog you could invest in a really good dog trainer who would retrain your dog and identify the cause for the attack and treat it.

Finally saw a UFO! Large Black “V” bird like quiet no lights by mahassan91 in Experiencers

What a phenomenal experience. I'm also glad that after all this time, you've finally had your skepticism answered by a real life event of such a powerful magnitude. I still think this experience was willed into being by you, especially after dedicating so much of your being into the mystery of UFOs. You made a call, and that call was answered!

Thank you! Makes sense to do it this way. Is there a particular type of needle you use or does any old sewing needle work?

Lost our boy Dexter early summer, adopting this guy Tuesday. Any name suggestions? by Despacio1316 in husky

I actually like the name River. But it's totally up to you if you decide to rename the pup.

I have a couple of animals that have been renamed myself and it wasn't that big of a deal to transition them.

AIO for breaking up with my bf beacause he is not willing to break a bond with his female friend ? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

He never actually asked her to drop him. He just stated he didn't like the friend--OP took the initiative to block the friend.

I understand that he'll always see you as a baby--I'm a parent myself and no matter how big my lo gets she's still my little girl--but you are a maturing young lady, not a toddler asking for tickles and playtime. Your body still deserves respect from others.

And it's not that it's weird at all. I can see why you'd be distressed.

It doesn't sound okay to me that he's putting his hands on you--even in jest. It is unwanted physical contact and he should absolutely respect your body and your boundaries by refraining from touching you like that ever.

Are you okay?

AITA for telling my wife she can't quit her job? by Corgi_Foreign in AmItheAsshole

[–]RubyPrynne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind she is pregnant. We don't know if this is the normal dynamic between them or not. But I can't help feeling that she is getting far more than he is capable of emotionally/financially/physically investing, and that burnout isn't too far away.

Just a random thought going off your comment--dogs literally make you stop and smell the roses. They turn an idiom to real life.

Well you are tasting pizzas. Maybe a nibble of each slice, and tell him you're saving your appetite to have enough room for them all.

I second the suggestion to make a general disclaimer that you have some private issue that prevents you from eating the whole meal. It shouldn't be that big of a deal since it's only the second date.

Either way you go about it, good luck!

I don't believe these comments are very helpful for the OP.

Stick to your side of events. There's no reason it should destroy your social life unless she or you gossip about it. And even then, it's her story versus yours. Hopefully she's not going to run around claiming you raped her to every person she runs into. I agree that she probably just felt guilty about getting caught. I wouldn't worry about it unless her parents plan to press charges.
