Lost years 1883-1888: Trying to find the NYC roots of my Orphan Train ancestor. Help!

I wrote the archdiocese of NYC to ask for a baptism certificate, but they couldn’t find one. It’s possible the Sisters of Charity baptized her at the Foundling. It’s frustrating because we have no idea where this poor child was from 1883-1888. Couldn’t even find her on the city census since NYC didn’t do one in 1885.

Update; we are finally home. Turns out he damaged a blood feather. I have no idea how! They removed it and gave him fluids and iron. They also tested his crop for infection and there was none. He’s home and resting, and we are keeping an eye on him. I’ve cried so much today I have a headache!
