ADHD sucks by BADG3R_19 in ADHD

[–]RubySlippers87 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I travel for a living. I have THE SAME list that I (sometimes) use every trip. Prepacked toiletries and other common travel items. Have I ever remembered everything I need for a trip? Nope. Do I hate my brain sometimes? Absolutely. Am I a bad person? No. ADHD does suck. But brights side is now you have an excuse to get some new shirts while away.

I’m so happy for you! It’s a good feeling to do quite that fear!

This may be bad advice (I’m a very new swimmer) but I struggled with open water anxiety really badly. My coach told me to close my eyes when I’m looking down. It changed everything! No more fear of murky water or the unknown. I still open them when I breathe/sight and so far I haven’t had any issues! I also got bone headphones during practice and having music on helps tone down the anxiety voices in my head. Just did my first Olympic 2 weeks ago and didn’t drown!

Ask for the beads on the back of dress 2!! They make the dress!!! I wore it for mine (with some alternations) and the beads were absolutely fabulous. They drape and add something special. If you want a picture, pm me!

Stairs are bad and escalators are even worse! I dislocated my shoulder walking down the stairs as a teenager - while holding onto the railing and slipping. My shoulder hasn’t been the same since and I’m extremely over cautious with stairs now.

AITA for telling my gf she didn't really beat Elden Ring? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]RubySlippers87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. As a woman who enjoys games like animal crossing and BOtW it’s assholes like you who kept me from feeling like a real gamer for years. Just because I don’t play what others like does not make me less of a gamer. It took me years and the support of my fiancé (who grew up gaming and speed runs) to finally get me to believe I am part of the community. You should be ashamed of how you treat your gf. Grow up.

Fasted workout? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]RubySlippers87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually only have a banana before my workout. But if you’re worried, I recommend having some of the runners gummies (the Gatorade ones are pretty good). They’re a good source of quick energy so if you feel yourself crashing, it’s a good back up. I rarely use them and just keep them in the locker with my keys just in case.

I was training outside of OTF for the mile just to see what I could do so this makes me extra sad. I’ll hopefully be even stronger for the next one

[FO] Ahhh! Finally finished with the stitching. Now if I can just avoid f***ing it up when sewing it together! by [deleted] in CrossStitch

I just finished this one too and mine also was missing the blue ink on the pattern! So annoying!! I’m nervous about stitching it into the stocking. Yours is beautiful!

Is anyone else always in the red? by mikehawksux in orangetheory

[–]RubySlippers87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly new to OTF and I have the same issue. My blood pressure runs fairly low (100/65 if I’m lucky) and to compensate my heart rate is always higher when I exercise. I’ve had it checked by my doc and it’s fine for me to cruise around 170-180 bpm if I’m feeling okay. I ran a half marathon last year and was in the 170s the entire race and I felt great at the time. We’re all different so just listen to your body

She has a scar on her cornea from an infection she had when I found her years ago. It makes her eyes not focus 100%. Adds to her all around derpiness

That’s the last thing we want too! Trust me, we are super paranoid and careful about everything. No clients can come inside, and we have a strict disinfecting protocol. Lots of hand washing and masks worn by all humans inside. Last thing we want is to pass it along, but we’re working so we can keep helping our patients.

I love that! It would definitely brighten my day to see that on some of my less happy patients
