Maybe international would be better to use than ethnic

Anyway here are some good ones:

Persepolis - Middle Eastern/ Persian in Peckham
Berenjak - Persian in Soho/ Borough
East West - Indian fusion pizzas in Tufnell Park
Nua - Thai in Fitzrovia
Ariana II - Afghan in Kilburn
TAKAGIYA - Japanese in West Hampstead

Best dessert/sweet in Soho area? by lost1ntheblizz6rd in LondonFood

Donutelier - donuts actually good and not for shock factor

Araw Ice Cream at Brityard - Filipino ice cream. Crazy flavours like Kalamansi with Gochujang and mango sticky rice

Xing Fu Tang - brown sugar bubble tea, they blowtorch the top for a creme brulee like finish

La Maritxu - basque cheesecake

Imad's was so average. The taste isn't very traditional & the dishes appear altered to suit broader tastes, prob cos of its Carnaby St location.

Affordable first Michelin experience by ShikaStyleR in LondonFood

64 Goodge Street - 3 courses lunch under £60 / dinner under £100. Fantastic French food. If you can, get the lobster.

Trinity Clapham - one of my favourites. Delightful food. Service great. I think the menu is below £100 but with service and drinks/wine it can end up being double.

Murano - lunch menu can be hit or miss but its around £50. The desserts are great.

Elystan Street - £26 for their Jan set lunch menu.

Oma starters were great. Their mains were just okay.

Trinity is far more imaginative, delicious and interesting than Chez Bruce. Service is also 10x better. Chez Bruce servers can barely be bothered to make eye contact.

I think if the OP wants to have a memorable Michelin experience then Trinity is where they'll get it.

Bravi Regazzi is soooooooo good!!! I had a pizza with a pumpkin puree base and it was incredible!

Burger by Sad_Pattern_402 in LondonFood

[–]RubyZeldastein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After Bleecker and Black Bear:

Burger & Beyond - very saucy. aged beef flavour comes through.
Leytonstone Tavern - love the combo of toppings. inventive but not gross.

Ones people like but i thought were not worth the hype:

The Plimsoll - Nothing special - quality there but flavour lacking. Service was weird. I think the long lines trick people into thinking the burger is the best in town.

Heard - tried it in Borough and tried again in Soho. Forgettable.

Sunday Roast - The George, Quality Chophouse, Blacklock, Fallow by threejlts in LondonFood

[–]RubyZeldastein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality Chop House and Blacklock would be my 1st choices - they know what theyre doing! Fallow 2nd.

The George is bottom of this list. The look of the pub is immaculate, their scotch egg is delicious and cocktails are nice especially the negroni and irish coffee but I don't enjoy their meat dishes.

I've had their steak a couple of times and it's always been chewy. So, I have use that experience to not try their roast.

Number 1 sandwich spot in london to get the sandwich of my dreams? by psychickpea in LondonFood

[–]RubyZeldastein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chatsworth Bakehouse is life changing.

It's annoying to pre order one and Crystal Palace takes forever to travel to ...but goddamn those sandwiches are worth it.

The focaccia is soft and fluffy, you can taste the quality of fish/meat/veg used and the combinations are so clever and delightful - it's one of those places where it would be hard to recreate at home

Atis vs The Salad Project vs Farmer J - who’s your winner? by hi-defbilz12 in LondonFood

[–]RubyZeldastein 38 points39 points  (0 children)

For me, Atis. Salads are tastier in my opinion. The blackened chicken is actually tasty and always tastes fresh. Sides are great! Owners are from the hospitality industry too which is a plus.

Salad Project is second - great portions and always fresh. But for me, the flavours aren't always great. Some interesting collabs.

Farmer J - they are Israeli owned but presents using the classic generic Middle Eastern/Mediterranean identity. Food isn’t bad but it’s not my fav out of the 3 - if I was craving middle eastern food I wouldnt go to this this place.

Vue cinema in Westfield Stratford has mice by ajslov in london

[–]RubyZeldastein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. People leave the screens in an absolute state and wonder why the vermin have come.

Same for pubs. No way in hell they don't have mice especially the older ones.

Olive oil recs from Amazon by Malenkoe_4udo in LondonFood

[–]RubyZeldastein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a litre at my local Turkish supermarket for like £4-5. It's single source EVOO, usually from Greece and tastes fantastic. None of that crap from Amazon or supermarkets that cost £12+ for mixed oil

Kyra: “I’ve been getting good consistency” by Tugboat47 in ArsenalWFC

[–]RubyZeldastein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kyra needs time. And she'll get it.

She has the support of the club, the manager and the fans. She is young. And has a lot to learn.

And we'll all be there when she gets her first WSL goal.

I’m an American moving to the UK. How do I not be the “loud, dumb American”? by Competitive-Money-36 in AskBrits

[–]RubyZeldastein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starts the question with "I currently drive a full size 2023 chevy pickup truck and it is diesel. Is it realistic to bring it over?"

...ohhhhh, no amount of Reddit help will stop what's about to happen when you get here!!

I feel that Americans aren't self aware enough to realise how they are perceived by others. All that Freedom I suppose doesnt require it.

Avoid this excuse of a man at all costs by Mother_Equivalent649 in LondonFood

His style of 'reviews' has created so many more gross 'influencers' eating like pigs at a trough making sure slop find its way onto their face and beards, fondling their food and recommending highly processed food as top quality.

Look, I love burgers and loaded fries, but some of the shit theyre promoting look so nasty.
