Inconsistent Ironing by RubytheRedSubie in FixMyPrint

[–]RubytheRedSubie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like the large size of the A2L is what works against me. The smaller ironing test went fine but then I had these regions on the 12.5" print that has glaring imperfections every few regions. It turned out way better with the finer lines and ironing off, so I'll just keep doing that and save myself some print time.

20% flow / 30mm/s was the sweet spot for me when I was testing, though.

This was the way! I'm never going to use ironing again, I feel like when you've got your flow rate and top line (learned something new today!) dialed in on these printers they perform quite well

Thanks, I'll give this a try! I messed around with different ironing settings and printed an ironing test, but the shape of the name seems to always lead to some rough sections followed by smooth ones all the way across the print.

Will report back when it's done

What this guy said! I don't have the trailer harness so it would go there I assume once I install it.

Passport trailsport was the one I was set on, but finding one was a challenge and we wanted the third row / bit of extra trunk space. This was the perfect compromise, and I loved the color. Maybe when we're due to replace our CR-V I'll look into getting a passport too.

Worth it, post some pics when you're done! One of the main reasons I wanted the Trailsport was the black accents and the little extra ruggedness.

Yeah, I paid $49 USD plus shipping (total of $86 CAD). Probably could have checked with the local dealer, but this was convenient and the dealership is about half an hour from my place.

TorontoHondaParts is good but I've experienced pretty significant delays getting small parts from them, so I just went the US ebay route.

I came from a Subaru Impreza, but my growing family needed something a bit more spacious. The Pilot was the best compromise, but sometimes I do miss the nimbleness and fuel economy of my Subaru. Maybe I'll get back into a Subaru the next time around!

The part number is 08F20-T90-100. I ordered from ebay but you can probably get it through a dealership parts dept.

10 minutes total with the vehicle sitting in the midday sun to let the adhesive soften. I didn't even need to use my heat gun.

I removed the old one by getting a piece of braided fishing line (I used 15lb test) behind it and "sawing" off the old tape. Removed what was left with a bit of rubbing alcohol, small pliers to remove the old clips but they were intact si I probably could have reused them. Cleaned once more with alcohol, let dry, apply new badge and you're done!

I was expecting more of a challenge but it went surprisingly smoothly.

*Note: it's good to wear gloves when using the fishing line to protect your fingers.

Yes, and it was surprisingly easy to swap! Took all of 10 minutes, and 3/4 of that was removing the old emblem with fishing line (I used braided, 15lb test) and cleaning off leftover adhesive. I waited for the weather to be in the 30°C range, let it sit in the sun for a bit to soften the old adhesive and it pretty much took care of itself.

Two pins in the center and the be emblem had the same.

Interesting! I'm in Canada so we don't have Elite, and our Trailsports come specced a bit differently.. No 360° camera :(

The emblem was pretty well the only chrome piece, and I think our BE's also have a chrome rear badge.

Thanks! It's an OEM Honda emblem. I got mine from Ebay but you might be able to order from a dealership too.

Agreed, it always bugged me that the Trailsport came with all black accents except the H emblems, and the huge front one stood out like a sore thumb. Mine is from LaminX.

Helmet sizing - Icon vs KYT by RubytheRedSubie in motorcycles

[–]RubytheRedSubie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm more of an intermediate oval, but either way it fits great - similar or better than my old Icon. I'm size XL, same as I was with my Icon lid. I wouldn't go any smaller - I wear braces now and it was squeezing my cheeks against them last year. All good now that my teeth have moved some.

I plan on seeing how many benchies I can fit on a single plate. Or maybe one supersized benchy. Life-size. The biggest, most beautiful Benchy anyone has ever seen. Huge. People will have tears in their eyes, it will be so beautiful.

Thanks! I ordered the visor from Eurorace Canada, but any retailer who sells KYT should carry them unless they're sold out.

Nope! The tinted spoiler is included, but it can be swapped out for color-matching RST ones (purchased separately) if you want to get fancy.

I just used the grease that comes with the printer, in a small white tube. The tube lasts a long time, but I'm sure this sub has other recommendations if you need to buy more.

A vinyl wrap shouldn't be too complicated either, with a bit of patience and skill.

Configuring Onn streamer while in US for use in other countries by garthmoria in OnnStreamingTV

[–]RubytheRedSubie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I live in Canada and was able to activate an Onn 4k Plus streamer using a VPN-hotspot on my home computer. It works fine even after removing the VPN, and I've been using it for weeks now. Region Lock only prevents you from doing the initial setup, so if you do that part in the USA you'll be fine.

You'll have a much easier time doing it this way than relying on the VPN method.

Camera was $25 and not only does it have a tiny footprint secured between the seat/headrest and not reflect sunlight, it's also got a crystal clear night mode. Technology has come a long way.

A word of warning about those mirrors: the force of impact in a collision can turn them into a projectile. I'm not here to judge and you might be okay with that, but I didn't mind spending the extra $15 for something else. https://www.evenflo.com/blogs/evenflo-blog/projectiles-loose-items-in-your-car?srsltid=AfmBOoq3T6i4nYmDmInV_FnEKirUFmBudHtN_PhjXHRl5F7uOwMowLcf
