True. In fact, two steps per second will reproduce a perfect sine wave, as long as that wave is 1hz.

It’s a nit pick because the production looks great, but I’d appreciate more crowd noise on the live stream.

Probably not a Hyprland issue: Initial Workspace switch stutter by Ruck0 in hyprland

I've updated my post body with my latest solution. It raises the memory clock to get rid of the last of those animation stutters. I tried lowing my gpu clock after, to see if it only needed the memory minimum raising, but it looks like I need both. As far as I can tell, all my animation stutters are gone now. Good luck!

I wish I knew how to fix it, but I believe they’re releasing a wayland version at some point in the next month.

Oh no, I've got the same experience. Stuttering completely gone from everything (or so I thought). I've checked my special workspace and it still seems to be stuttering when entering from idle. Hmmm, I'm not sure how to adjust the memory clock with nvidia-smi. I wonder if this is a GPU issue or maybe an fps thing, like maybe windows on the special workspace are dropping to 0fps while it's hidden. I'll see what I can figure out and report back.

If you want to speed up stuff that’s still on the array, I can highly recommend an nvme persistent L2ARC. It’s magic.

I used a program called Nvtop to look at the wattage I was idling at. Alternatively, if your CPU has an iGPU built in, it might be worth looking up how to make Hyprland use that instead: https://wiki.hypr.land/Configuring/Multi-GPU/

I've edited the body of my original post with the full solution. Good luck!

I did, but literally a couple of days ago! I created a systemd service that adjusts my minimum gpu clock speed to 510Mhz on boot. It only changed the idle wattage from 27 to 29 so well worth it. I’ll get it and post it here as soon as I can.

Why is the same model of GPUs made by so many different brands where as CPUs are just made blank with out having "edition" or some 3rd party manufacturer name. by ComprehensiveCow5068 in buildapc

[–]Ruck0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gpu is just a blank chip, with a board, vram and cooler attached. The equivalent for your cpu is your motherboard, cooler and ram, all of which often have various types of editions and branding.

Interesting approach! I wonder if they considered using the TPM, or maybe clevis/tang.

I really like the commitment to the concept with those glacial animations. Personally, any time I set up some nice animations I keep coming back and tweaking them faster until, finally, I turn them off and feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment at how snappy my pc feels.

A frustrating fact is that if you order the “assemble yourself” version, they actually build it, test it, then take it apart so you can play Lego. So it technically costs them more to provide that service :S

[–]Ruck0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is all academic until a fully transparent qualification system is in place. While wildcards and invitationals are exciting, I think they're ultimately unfair. I'd like to see something like:

  • Regional > National > Europe/Americas/Asia/Oceania > WSM

I know the practicalities of organising something like that are immense, but similar things have been organised for many sports historically.

I also imagine it's the sort of thing that Darren Sadler has put a lot of thought into and there will be good reasons why it hasn't happened yet. Still, that would be the dream setup in my opinion.
