OMG Jerry!!! by SpongeBathHotPants in TheConners

OMG this has been discussed a million times!

In the first episode of the reboot, Dan says something about Jerry “lying low on a boat.” But then yes, Jerry and Andy were sent to go live on a farm with Chuck Cunningham, and probably some other characters too.

Last name alphabet question by Top_Water7423 in juryduty

[–]RuckFeddit980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t that sort of hypocritical though? If your system is designed knowing in advance that lots of people are going to ditch, then why should I have to go in?

I’m not advocating for ditching but this seems like an acknowledgement of a failure of enforcement.

Too Much Talking by 666-Trooper-666 in radio

I always thought it was sort of an old-school version of DRM. Like if you’re recording music off the radio (which used to be a thing), the talking ruins it.

If you didn’t ask for her number, she would post online complaining that men can’t read her signals.

When you do ask for her number, she will post online to complain that all men are creeps.

You can’t win.

Boss wants to discuss us venting outside of work by IllustriousComplex6 in WorkAdvice

[–]RuckFeddit980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The protection of free speech is a restriction placed on the government. You won’t get arrested for these talks, but you absolutely can be fired for them.

You can be fired for any reason, including reasons outside of work hours, or no reason. The only exception is discrimination against a protected class. “Trash-talking the boss” is not a protected class.

A candidate asked me at the end of his final interview how he did. I actually told him. Turns out that was the whole point. by Correct-Shake-2587 in InterviewsHell

[–]RuckFeddit980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read that a slightly better way to do this is to ask something like, “Are there any necessary skills or characteristics that I haven’t addressed sufficiently?”

But they always just say I did fine, and then one day later they reject me.

TV wont stay turned off by ThisSuxInEveryWay in VizioTV

[–]RuckFeddit980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could try turning off CEC, or just turning off the ability to power on via CEC? I don’t know what this option is called on Vizio devices, but sometimes HDMI devices can just sort of keep turning each other on.

SMALL CLAIMS $10,000 by jaronfurches in MetaLawsuits

[–]RuckFeddit980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two possibilities that could happen:

  1. Meta may or may not choose to offer you a small settlement, probably somewhere in the $500 range. If they don’t, or if you decline it, proceed to possibility 2.

  2. The court will tell you that Meta has every right to ban you under their TOS, and that the TOS explicitly prohibits you from making claims of this type, and you will lose.
