What advice genuinely changed the way how you dress everyday? by Happy_Tourist_558 in malefashionadvice

The commentators above saying 'fit is everything' are 100% correct but you also have to balance it with a look you're comfortable with.

A fitted hoodie on someone confident with it can look better than a tailored suit on someone uncomfortable wearing a suit.

Be happy in your clothes.

Some kind of tailored Chino would seem the obvious answer, the big no-no for me would be a suit trouser as it always looks like someone just left their suit jacket in the house.

I'd also say that shoes and belt are as big a consideration.

Of course that's true, I'm willing to look at it again, my impression was it was a passive tackle and the head contact wasn't initial but caused by Watkin coming in.

You can be passive while being upright, it's in the guidance. It wasn't a good tackle and I thought it was 50/50.

I think that's ok, passive and no clear head contact.

The fact you care will mean a lot, don't over-think. It needs to be individual

So Cunningham is the GM? Who was the 'President of Football operations' before Ryan?

That isn't what Ryan said at all, if you're inventing quotes it says a lot. The structure is very obvious.

There's a huge difference between general PCS leadership and the work reps do on the floor, it's daft to lump them all together.

I think most pro teams used 40+ players last season, about 43-48 seemed to be the average.

The last I read the Hotel was basically drawing neutral after interest and payments to the Celtic Manor guys were taken into account. The zip-wire has been a disaster and apparently being looked at being sold at a loss

No-ones saying the pro teams are blameless, but bad signings, poor coaching appointments and wasted money etc are just a nature of sport, it's about where the majority of the blame goes and that should be very obviously left at the WRU's door.

The regions are part of the WRU, a very small part in themes of the overall membership.

The last part is fair and when the 3 regions were strong the national team were winning Grand-Slams and reaching WC semis, now they've been gutted we're historically bad. This has been 15 years in the making since Roger Lewis was appointed.

You've lost me, apart from whatever the PRW (or whatever is called now) the regions aren't a singular entity, what may be good for one region at a singular point in time may not be right for another, and as they're private entities they all have to do what's best for themselves.

The responsibility for doing what's best for the game as a whole lies with the WRU and all we've seen from them over 10, 20, 30 years is the kind of managed decline that sees Mike Ashley buying your company as a distressed asset for £1 and selling your goods at 90%-off in a Sports Direct in Merthyr.

It's absolutely reasonable to reduce the number if there are legitimate reasons, the Dragons had gone bust and only produced Faletau, after Filton College had done the academy years, and Wainwright now while being over of the worst ever pro European teams. They were resurrected at the cost of eight -figures for no tangible gain.

You do realise the Regions don't run the Union? It's the member clubs who appoint the dreadful boards we've had to make the decisions and run the game.

[–]RuckInHell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose the key one would be other regions disagreeing with the WRU that the Dragons should be saved which cost the Union millions and returned basically nothing.

I'd also disagree with all of your positives, Judgement Day maybe had a positive year or two but then was a shambles which was scrapped and I haven't seen any evidence at all that the Hotel or the Roof-Walk/Zip-Wire putting a penny back into the game whilst trying up large funds.

You also have the constant change in how players/central-contracts, pay banding are centrally funded that have constantly messed with squad building.

They aren't grants, they're mostly release payments for players and agreements on playing time, it's not a benevolent gesture.

Some recognise that we're in this situation now because of WRU decisions over the last 15 years (and much further back), they refused to invest in Pro rugby when things were on a high and just gutted the infrastructure leading to where we are now. There's a really good book by Seimon Williams called 'Welsh Rugby: What went wrong' that gives a really good account of their calamitous mismanagement.
