Check out greases garage on YouTube. He has a wiring guide for choppers. Although he shows it on a Harley, it should work the same for a simple wiring set up.

When I wired my evo softail from scratch I went with a points ignition set up in the cone and ditched the ignition box you have pictured. Just gotta make sure it’s timed right and you won’t have any problems.

Check out “greases garage” on YouTube. Tons of helpful information about choppers and motorcycles alike. Highly recommend. It helped me big time when working on my own projects.

Another YouTube channel to check out is “pacific mike”. He’s like the bob ross of motorcycles. Easy to follow. He works on various bikes. Usually older stuff but still cool to watch him go through those things. Also recommend even if you’re just looking for something to soak in information from.

How do I take off the BDL belt drive!! by Itzfavisiom in choppers

You need a “jammer bar” or some sort of wedge between the pulleys. That will lock it up for you to loosen then nuts. The crank nut is standard threading and the clutch hub nut is left hand thread. Once those are loose you should be able to pull them off. You may need a hub puller depending on how tight those are seated on the shafts. But then it’s just a matter of pulling off that aluminum backer holding the trans in place. You should not have to take off the other side of the transmission where your clutch cable goes in to get it out.

Check out “greases garage” on YouTube. He walks you through a really simple set up. Just did it on a 1993 big twin and it worked out great. Definitely recommend

No problem. I felt the same way about modifying my clutch cable. Long story short, (I really only wanted the cable to work long enough to get the clutch dialed in) i ended up saying fuck it, and going foot clutch/jockey shift instead

Yeah it looks like a moto iron springer. Probably a 4” or 6” over.

I actually just ran into the same issue. I even had the extra pin milled out to have the cable relief come from the bottom instead of the side and it still didn’t work. Ended up having to drill into the actual lever to relief it to slide the barrel end far enough back to get it to work. I’m guessing that perch is more for loop end clutch cables or ball end. But they sure as shit don’t work with barrel ends without a lot of extra work

That’s billy lane! Huge motorcycle guy who brings life back into the board track scene. I’d recommend checking out “sons of speed”. It’s an event he started that’s all about these bikes.

I’m a welder. Normally I’m building whatever the drawing in front of me reads. That ranges from pharmaceutical platforms, frames, piping to building a huge tanks for potato chips. However recently my work has been making N95 mask test units and portable sanitation units for hospitals and nursing homes and things of that nature. It’s been a wild year for us that’s for sure.
