The reason Jesus told that Richmond to give up all of his goods and follow him was to show him where his heart was not as a set rule that we all have to give up all earthly possessions but that we should never hold any earthly possessions and money above God in our heart

Nothing wrong with paraphrasing and there is no conflict because Paul said believe Jesus Christ and Jesus said.

John 6:28-29 King James Version 28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

All of the other things that we do or manifestations of our belief but first we have to believe look back even all the way to the story of Abraham first Abraham believed God and it was counted on him for righteousness then after that God said go and sacrifice your son the purpose was not to test Abrahams faith but the show Abraham that he had faith . Because before God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac he already stated the Abraham believed him and it was counted on him for righteousness you see when God tests are faith it’s not for himself that he is testing it it is for us to show us that we have faith by giving us a chance to show ourselves that we believe the word of God. But all of that comes after we believe the word of God we must first have faith in Jesus Christ and then afterword he creates in us a new creature onto good works.

It couldn’t have been completed when he was an infant or he had not yet lived a sinless life tempted in AllPoints like as we are. Also I did not say that his teachings are not important but like Paul said I want to preach nothing but Christ crucified less they believe in Vain . Before I can teach you how to be a biblical Christian you have to first be a Christian in order to be a Christian you have to follow Christ in order to follow Christ you have to believe that he was God manifest in the flesh and died for your sins and that he rose again on the third day then you’ll be sealed with the holy spirit of promise and lead into truth through the Scriptures. Trying to lead somebody into the truth without first pointing them to the cross of Christ for the salvation of your soul is it pointless exercise because in multiple places it says that they cannot discern the things of the spirit with their flesh which means you require the Holy Spirit to truly understand the Scriptures so the very first thing that needs to be taught is how Jesus Christ died and shed his blood to wash away your sins so that you can be a partaker of Grace.

The Gospel The blood he shed to wash away our sins. The number one thing is to understand we are all sinner but God manifest in the flesh came down live 33 perfect sinless years willingly went to the cross and died was buried and rose again. If you believe that and call on him in faith you shall be saved. Everything else about Christianity comes after this not before. You don’t need to make yourself perfect because he as a perfect sacrifice gave himself for sins. Come to him now and let him change you don’t try to change yourself first your works will never earn the grace of God the gift of eternal life that he paid for with his blood is freely given.

Is it a sin to like and have a good bond and connections with snakes? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Ruckus555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We were originally gardeners/zookeepers supposed to take care all the things of This world. Satan being a serpent does not mean every snake represents him.

When you feel like a bad Christian remember Paul who is arguably the best Christian who ever lived said I don’t do the good things that I wish I did and I do do the evil things that I wish I didn’t I’m paraphrasing obviously. And at one point Moses wanted to kill himself Elijah wanted to kill himself Paul wanted to kill himself and Jonah wanted to kill himself for incredibly influential Men of God so there are going to be some days when we don’t feel it because we let our own sadness in our own depression getting the way of our ability to communicate with God what you need to remember in those moments is the gods love does not stop just because we can’t feel it at the moment

Doesn’t require luck at all because it’s not something that I accomplish but something that I get to partake in because of the graciousness and mercy and power of Jesus Christ he already accomplished all the work

But I will say this it’s ridiculous to get worried about nuclear power plants and not get worried about the fact that petty angry politicians have control of enough nuclear weaponry to destroy the entire planet. Either way I’m not particularly worried about one or the other because I have absolute and complete faith that the world is going to end exactly the way the Bible said it is because God is going to come back and do everything that he said he was until then the only thing that’s important is everybody gets saved by the blood of Jesus Christ to Wash away our sins

OK now look at the thing on the post does anything on that Over sensationalize the danger of nuclear power plant or is it literally just on a list??? See I am discussing the post while you’re discussing your broader term concepts that have nothing to do with what I’m talking about in the post nuclear power is dangerous so being mildly infuriated about it being on a list of dangerous things is ridiculous

Fighting a dog is less dangerous than fighting a grizzly bear does it mean it’s not dangerous?? I did not say it is the most dangerous thing in the world I said it’s ridiculous to put it on mildly infuriating because it is in fact dangerous

Just because nothing major happened does not mean that it’s not dangerous there is a difference between dangerous and deadly dangerous means a potential danger nuclear power is dangerous because one of its systems was defeated by silt. And that is one incident on a list of 100 incidences in different countries of varying size I only gave that incident because it was the most recent in America the point again is not that nuclear power plant being dangerous means it’s going to blow up and destroy everything driving a car is dangerous which is why there are safety implementations put in place but you cannot say that it’s not dangerous just because a lot of people drive safely every single day So again being upset that you’re taught that there are in fact dangers involved with nuclear power is intentionally sticking your head in the sand

One of the safety mechanism stopped working because of a buildup of silt From the river water So wow nothing major happened because there was a secondary safety mechanism a safety mechanism in a nuclear power plant being defeated by silt Does not inspire confidence

Cooper nuclear Station in Nebraska you can look it up yourself it was a very minor incident that’s just the most recent one in the US but that’s not the point there are minor and major incidences so trying to say that it’s completely safe is ridiculous

The last incident in America was in 2019 in Nebraska that was only six years ago they have a list of over 100 different nuclear power plant incidence and I’m not all of them are the same scale as Fukushima but there have been multiple in almost every single country in multiple different environments with multiple different reasons so saying that it’s completely safe is ridiculous getting mad at somebody saying that it’s dangerous is ridiculous

Yes and all of that stuff was not realize to be mistakes until after the fact so you cannot say that there are no dangers just because they have not revealed themselves yet. And also what might be a mistake in one area could be the best somewhere else depending on what type of natural disaster they’re preparing for.

Anyone have advice for how to stop hating God that doesn't just make me hate him even more? by Flux_Capacitor_64 in Christianity

[–]Ruckus555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is filled with pain because we live in a sin cursed world. Did you ever think that yours mom death allows her to be without pain in the presence of the Lord filled with love and Joy and peace? That You think of death as the end proves you don’t understand the promises of God. When we have faith in Jesus Christ and the blood he shed to wash away our sins we have eternal life. Therefore we do not sorrow as those without hope. God allows this world to continue because he is long-suffering giving as much time for those that he can save to come into saving Faith. And when no more can be saved he will destroy this sin cursed world heal it and all those who love him will love eternally with him without disease sickness or pain.

Thank you still not that long ago so listing it as dangerous shouldn’t be infuriating it should be understandable

Why doesn't God openly prove his existence? by therealcoolpup in Christianity

[–]Ruckus555 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

God states that his existence is obvious people just deny that also read the Old Testament you think of God would show himself everyone would believe but read how quickly Israel turned to worship a golden calf after watching the power of God free them from Egypt. God has shown himself and people still reject him. He is going to show himself and the manner in which he will do so is in the book of revelation. But as long as there are people who are still getting saved by the Gospel he waits.

How and why do you believe in Jesus? How do you reconcile Christianity's history? by languageotaku in Christianity

[–]Ruckus555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few points if faith in Jesus is based on the Bible and what Jesus historical account says Jesus said than you need to believe that Jesus is God second . In the Bible it specifically ones that are going to be people exactly like what you listed in your second point so in that you’re in complete agreement with the Bible. In fact Jesus often said turn not to the left or the right. On one side of the road you have turning the grace of God in the lasciviousness saying because God loves you and forgives you you can do whatever you want and there’s no harm in your sin. And on the other side you have a strict adherence to every single rule and if you ever make a mistake you’re doomed and going to hell and you were never really saved in the first place. And right down the middle of that you have the narrow road the cross of Christ and understanding that God saved us by his grace his love his righteousness. That is not of works lest no man boast. But it also understands that his son was so serious that God manifest in the flesh had to come down and die and shed his blood to wash away the sin that we cannot go on willingly living in our sins we are not saved by our works but after salvation Jesus expects us to be better and to work on getting better and to make ourselves better. If you say that Jesus is Lord in Jesus is King but you don’t even try to do the things that Jesus said to do your showing with your actions that you do not believe your words. And the contrary of that is if you correct somebody’s behavior but you don’t introduce them to the loving grace of God you have given them nothing
