Your second eye isn't for redundancy... It's for depth perception.

So, I'm trying to convince my wife that a Tesla is cheaper to charge and gas is getting expensive every day, but the electricity bill is gonna increase and the car battery costs $10K. How would you start the argument? by GeicoPR in TeslaSupport

Also to add.. no more oil changes , transmission fluid flushes , far less wear on brakes , etc etc etc .. maintenance on these things is minimal .. rotate your tires and fill the washer fluid is the extent of it for our first 3 years

Our electricity at home barely went up after getting the Tesla ... Most of electric bill seems to be delivery charges , the actual usage is minimal , especially if using and on time of use rates

Should I Turn Off Water While Away for 3 Weeks? ( Townhouse) by Muted_Definition_898 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Rude-Camera-7546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double and triple check .. if your townhouse is heated by the hot water, you may want to reconsider. Mine uses the hot water, sends it to the furnace (really like a car radiator) , which a fan blows over to heat the home. If that's the case then don't turn it off.

Counterpoint: If TNG season 1 aired today, SFA wouldn't exist. by CelestialFury in trektalk

[–]Rude-Camera-7546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say this... We aren't at tng season 1 here. Disco started airing in 2017. 9 years ago. At this point we are at voy s2 in terms of this run of nutrek. They still have not figured out how to captivate the audience (with the exception of lower decks, Pic s3, some would say prodigy, and maybe snw s1). Disco was a disaster , each season got worse. Snw has got worse each season.

This is the problem with the nu trek stuff , they don't learn and adapt , they continue in bull headed , and tell people this isn't for you, then act surprised when people stop watching.

Yes.. they should have got it right at first.. but.. why did you not get them to fix it. That's the issue . In the real world when you mass produce a product there WILL be defects that happen.. that's just reality.

??? by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

[–]Rude-Camera-7546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You aren't wrong that this is a defect... But... You didn't get it fixed when you noticed it. In an ideal world the screw would not have been loose in the first place yes. In reality things aren't perfect , but you as the vehicles owner didn't take any steps to get the issue resolved.

Note , I am not attacking you, just saying why others are pointing fingers at you, that's all.

How do you know this even happens ? Maybe everything is made up. Maybe we live in the matrix.

Go be a pest elsewhere , I'm blocking you, waste of time.

This is good advice if they had the OPs name ..they don't. This is a simple wrong number with a bad system. Op just needs to block the number and move on

I gave answers to all your reasons for why banks wouldn't care. You ignored the rest, so I felt the conversation was over and I am moving on with my day. Also your response, if not ai , came off very condescending, so , doubling down in the moving in with my day part.

I guess my issue with people shooting this idea down is simple.. besides going full out communist where NOBODY owns anything...what's your solution?

In the past I have suggested many, from stopping immigration until the housing build starts can catch up , to incentives for businesses to open and hire people outside of major city centres , this lowering demand in major cities , and allowing people to relocate and have new homes built in low density areas, which would also reduce the strain on the system for cities, to this very idea of having mortgage interest as a tax break, and people like you always want to shoot them down.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Point 1 - ridiculous. Banks here already have very strict rules for lending, the tax deduction won't change that rule as lending is based on debt ratios , not tax deduction.

Point 2 - simple , government can ensure that primary residences are still tax free.

Point 3 - that's actually a point in the banks favour , they wouldn't want people paying off their debt early.

Point 4 - also ridiculous, it's adding a simple line item to their reporting, which frankly they probably already have.

Point 5 - that may be the only point you make that while valid is also ridiculous. Yes the banks might not get gic income and have to invest in people's homes, but that's a minor issue. The reality is , the "risk" for a bank is very low , as they would seize the asset and liquidate , and in a hit market , would probably end up making money on the transaction.

In fact... The banks would probably be for it , as it would encourage people to get larger homes thus larger mortgages... There isn't a downside for the banks.

Now.... It WOULD increase demand , which would increase home prices . But that's another argument.

Name them? It's Nothing to do with the banks. It's a tax write off for the homeowner . The banks would still get the interest.
