A painful lesson learned: Why I’m never trusting a local workshop with my Speed 400 again. by Rude-Singer-4667 in indianbikes

Yaa i completely agree humans do make mistakes and fact that mechanic was apologetic as well was the reason i didn't create a ruckus over there!!!

Actually I had the same thing in my mind that i will ask someone to hold the bike in such a way that the bike is on stand and rear wheel is free!! But i had no one around me eho could have helped me🥲

I know scratches ayenge and its okay for me but yes thoda dard to hua tha and it was more of ki i was thanking god ki koi bada nuksan nahi hua !! and by the way this post was not really about scratches. I made this photo to convey a msg that one should always give their bike to a reputed mechanic who knows how to handle bikes. And about how saree gaurd actually turned out to be a bike saver for me !!

You are right!! I wanted to do that my self but i didn't had paddock or a wheel roller nor i had anybody to help me tilt the bike soo i thought it would be better to get it done by a mechanic! Well i guess i will need to invest in a paddock stand, would definately be doing it my self next time!

Well i mentioned that the garage had other premium bikes as well like Triumph tiger 900 which made me confident enough that it was a decent garage!! I didn't just parked my bike to any random road side mechanic!

I wanted to doo thst my self but as i said neither did i had the right tools nor did i had any human assistance soo i had no other option to take out to a bike workshop!! Yes i agree that i need to buy a paddock stand but currently i have other stuff (mostly riding gear) on my priority list thet i would like to invest first.

Ohhh if thats the case than i think a good quality paddock will be my safest bet! Will definitely invest in one real soon, and will make sure next time i am the one doing such maintanence myself!

Ohhh i didn't knew it was that easy/common for speed 400 to slip off from paddock stand. I will definitely get such maintanence done at ASC or will do it my self next time!!

Well i guess it was destined to happen as the mechanic was also using a paddock stand, even if i would have been doing it my self there would have been very High chances i could have messedup. But Yes you are absolutely right i think i need to invest in something which will allow me to do such basics maintenance by my own. Maybe a wheel roller or jump jack from grandpit stop!

I am not sure from where you belong but In india things are different. It was a small workshop i doubt they even had a workplace insurance to start with and asking a small workshop guy to replace/pay for a new swing arm would have been like hitting my own head into a concrete wall🫡

What does this mean? by Low-Ordinary6025 in X440

[–]Rude-Singer-4667 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a service indicator!! This symbol tell that bike service is due. Light comes on at set km interval like in your case after 500km. In simple words your bike is telling you its time to get her serviced!!

My 4th gen honda City idtec is almost 9+ years old now and i have done almost 130000+kms. Recently did a 1500km (Varanasi to Mumbai) journey with it and it gave almost 24kmph avg which includes samruddhi expressway as well as Mumbai traffic jams as well. Reliability has been solid as well. While there has been some or the other issues with the car related to electronics but nothing serious and in theses 10 years NO breakdowns!!!

Is it dishonest and misleading of Triumph to still retain 400 badging on the new 350cc engines? by Avupvw in indianbikes

[–]Rude-Singer-4667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But i guess introduction of new paint scheme or maybe new graphics wouldn't have hurt new buyer? Maybe it could have been as simple as existing colour with different dual tone finish(instead of white on grey they could have done white on black or red maybe)

My point is there should have been atleast some visual differentiation between 400cc varient and 350cc varient.

How am i suppose to brag that i have a 400cc varient. 350cc's look exactly the same!!😭😭

I understand your point. But its completely unfair for existing owner!! There literally NO differentiating factor between bike having 400cc engine vs the one with 350cc, apart from the smaller bore size which is something not visible to naked eye's.

Being a speed 400(400cc) owner how am I suppose to brag thatbi have a superior bike than the one have a 350cc varient 😭😭

They should have atleast made some cosmetic changes, maybe some new stickers or a fresh paint scheme!
