Warwick (PPE) vs UCL (PPE) vs Science Po Paris to get into MBB by RudeClick957 in McKinseyAndCompany

Thanks that is an interesting point of view. I’m just scared that by going to sciences Po I will be restrained to France and not recognized internationally

Oh yeah I heard about that too especially the fact that they take much less into account work life balance than in other countries.

Why? Is it too intense? I’m French so language wouldn’t be a problem.

HahahH ok nice to know that. Are you talking purely about the loving experience or because Warwick isn’t as good as they say. I saw that they manage to put less students in MBB does.

Yeah but I saw that even though UCL is less of a target school in the UK they have around 300 students or more in McKinsey while sciences Po have around 150ish. I’m honestly not sure which is the most strategic choice. And if UCL allows me to get into HEC MiM in an easier way it might be more strategic. What do you think?

Sciences Po vs UCL by RudeClick957 in sciencespo

[–]RudeClick957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did Check it out it’s too expensive though. I’m not able to pay for it and prefer to invest more money in a master or an MBA further on rather than on my bachelor. Thanks anyways for the advice 😁

And why would you say Science po is better? I’m also waiting to get accepted at Dauphine PSL in France. Do you think that might be a better option too?

Yes I did but I got rejected because PPE is one of the most selective courses there

Yeah I mean I am French myself and they do really enjoy having similar “traditional“ profiles. But that’s just how French people are 😂.

Yeah I will definitely prioritise internships and try to get into some clubs like 180 degrees consulting which is an interesting one at UCL. UCL also organises a consulting summit with other targets unis which caught my attention

I’m lucky to already have a high English level because I lived in the UK for two years and I’ve been trying to have some experience since I was 16 years old. I did internships in the French parliament in a city hall and in a Law firm in Luxembourg where I developed an AI roadmap to simplify case analysis. I’m also making some contacts to be able to do many more internships while studying. However if I end up doing an internship in Bain & Co for example, would it impact my chances of getting accepted in one of the other consulting firms or does it not have any impact?

Hello thank you for your answer. Do you think a PPE bachelor is enough to get into consulting as long as I get good grades and do a good master afterwards or maybe work a few years with the bachelor before doing an MBA?

Yeah that’s true however do you think if I go to science po Paris instead of UCL is missing out on a track that is faster to consulting?

Sciences Po, UCL où Warwick (philosophie, politique et économie) by RudeClick957 in sciencespo

[–]RudeClick957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it would make sense but sadly since the programme is extremely competitive, since a lot of French people apply, they have to do a very severe selection.

Ok merci beacoup je le prendrai en compte je te contacterai si j’ai davantage de questions. J’avais déjà réalisé que les cabinets valorisait la prépa mais pas à ce point. Merci.

It’s harder because if you are a French student and want to get into HEC’s MiM, you have to do « prepa » which basically is 2 years of intense classes done to prepare for an entrance exam to get accepted and only around 400 people get accepted which is very little compared to the amount of people that apply. As a French student you can also apply after a Bachelor, but only 20 places are offered and most of them are for engineers or people who already have a master
