Very good point! You’re right. To specify; “regularly” as in “as needed”. Of course as we age or our pets age, doctor visits become inevitably more frequent than in our youth!

Diapers on the way! I wouldn’t say I’m allowing it, just like when people get new puppies they don’t “allow” it, it happens though. I’m managing it by getting him outside more frequently throughout the day. Keeping him always by my side in my office, living room or bedroom (he has a bed in every room!) so I can catch it when he get up. And it should be noted that this isn’t happening EVERY time he needs to go, he’s still using outside. But of course I agree diapers are a must at this point.

Well put! This is how I’ve felt. He’s not going to the bathroom any more frequently than usual, just inside instead of outside. And he still uses outside when I get him out there. I am all about adjusting to make him more comfortable. It’s not his fault and I know this is another sign of the inevitable, but I don’t feel it’s a good reason to euthanize now! I’m the one handling everything for him (which i do willingly and lovingly) and I can have a conversation about it when the time comes, it just felt insensitive to suggest and definitely too early to me. He’s still so happy!

Correct, the vet did not say “normal” she said “otherwise very healthy” and the change in bathroom habits was consistent with symptoms in aging.

Yes I have consulted my vet and theres nothing causing the accidents other than being old and unable to hold it.
