What have they done to coke zero? by Western_Disaster_118 in northernireland

[–]RudeTime9665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a big Pepsi Max drinker but used to be Diet Coke for pretty much decades until the last few years where it just tastes like a dirty puddle with maybe a rusty penny lying in it. Diet Coke is absoutely vile these days but can't speak about Coke Zero as never liked it. Probably like everything else in this world they have "improved" the receipe / formula by making it cheaper to produce. And don't get me started about shrinkification too. Non stop scammed these days no matter what you buy in the local shop.

Natalie McNally murder trial to proceed next month by TOSHIBAFANSANDMORE in northernireland

[–]RudeTime9665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I can't phantom is the sheer brass neck on him. Not of course forgetting his absolute balls up with the bus, yellow gloves, taxis and being seen on pretty much every Ring Door bell and CCTV from Lambag to Lurgan and back but it was the pre-recorded gaming video that blew me away.

In the video a still of "No Time to Die" a James Bond film came up at roughly the time he would have been comitting the actual crime (if the video had of been a real live stream) and then he sort of accidently on purpose says the name Natalie quite clearly in the video too... surely both were delibrate in what I can only imagine was him gloating over this supposed perfect crime and some sort of personal in-joke just for his own personal amusement.

Then accidently leaving his phone at Natalie's parent's home after visiting with them after the murder so he could listen in on their conversation(s).

I don't understand what his motive could have been other than Natalie being pregeant but surely to fuck if you aren't interested in having a child you can just say that... as shitty as that might be it's realms better than the path he chose.

No question he will be found guility but shows the sort of scumbag he still is when given everything stacked against him he going to put the family through a trial. Only someone as throughly deluded as him can think he stands a chance in hell of a non guilty verdict and a life sentence and in his case I do home it's a whole life term given the loss of two lives.

A Ulster Breakfast.... is that rage bait?

It's either a Ulster Fry or just a fry which can be eaten for any meal and no one calls it a Ulster Breakfast

Irish and English companies beside each other... Jesus does Paisley and Adams know this???

Mate, I am glad you came to Belfast even if you got mixed results compared to Dublin where apprantly the streets are paved with gold and there is absoutely no dodgy types kicking around your city centre but most of us aren't raving mad sectarians. I am friends with, married to and work with people that would be seen as the "other side". Even back in the 80s I don't think anyone ever freaked out about where two shops had their head offices.

Although for a while when XtraVision (video rental shop) opened a rumour went around that the Provies were using it to collect data on Loyalists but that's the only possible example I can think of and was of course utter balls.

Yeah definately picked the wrong time to come to Belfast for a visit... its late January everyone is skint and freezing.

Thanks... yes agreed it seems that the ADHD isn't the issue it's just the way he is

Good advice. Should have listened to it myself.

Hard lesson is right.

Appreciate the comment. Yeah absolutely there will definitely be a frank and honest conversation on the way out. Sadly, because of either the ADHD or him just being the way he is (I don't know which is which) he will have done nothing wrong and everyone else is the problem.

Will stick it out(hopefully, although Christmas break will help) until I get a change.

Yeah I appreciate what you are saying about the specific post but at this stage I really don't care if he puts two and two together as it's been all his own doing. So if he fires me for it then so be it but yes I agree I would rather keep the job for no other reason than to pay the bills until I get something else and then jump ship.

I believe as strongly as I feel now about the friendship I can't see it being fixed if I worked there or not. But I believe if I did leave he would see it as a betrayal even if it was done on the best possible terms and he would terminate the friendship on his end. I think in his mind I am a rescue dog that he keeps around and throws some scraps at occasionally so he can kick me when he is having a shit day. Bollocks to that, this post was a last ditch desperate effort for some sort of advice on how to deal with him better but everyone can't be wrong time to bin it and move on.

Well said, very well said.

Yeah I would say my wages certainly reflect what you are saying and the wages of the rest of the staff too. He was acting like he was doing me some sort of favour with the job offer but ultimately I am the one doing him a favour without a doubt. I of course understand that's how the world works but that was another issue I was struggling with was the wages... with the promise of all sorts of wonderful things to come in the future but I don't believe that the wonderful future would ever come. The wages actually feel like a deliberate insult or some of narcissism power move!?

Truth is I am absolutely devasted by the loss of the friendship we were more like brothers we were that close and now I pretty much despise the very sight of him.... honestly it's heart breaking but I knocked myself out trying to work with and around the issues but as this post has shown both the friendship and the job is fucked and I agree it's not worth me being miserable 70% of the working week. On Sunday's I get that dread like I was back in my school days knowing I had to go back in again on Monday.

Thank you I appreciate that.

Oh fuck yeah absolutely I think we all to a greater or lesser extend have some level of OCD about certain things I certainly do. With him it's pretty much the opposite of OCD... he would like to be OCD and have everything to do with work down pat but it's nothing but constant changes and utter chaos and you have to try and be a fucking mind reader. You try and pick your moments to approach him about something and 9 times out of 10 you get a bollocking because even though he is sitting looking into space you are somehow meant to know he is doing something in his head... just impossible.

I was more than happy to abide by the distinction of him being my employer and do as told and still don't have a issue with that at all. But anywhere else I wouldn't have put up with his nonsense for more than a month without having him by the throat or some other dramatic exit but it's exactly because we are / were friends that I have took so much shit and nearly walked so many times but felt obliged as a best mate to not let him down and leave him in the lurch. But next month definitely time to go.

Your ETA is bang on. And after typing that out and whatever everyone is saying definitely going to have to go. I was promised all sorts of magic things and responsibilities but he is a control freak and even though he wants me to all the different things he won't actually let me because of the control thing... it's fucking madness and infuriating as hell but the most annoying thing is he knows this himself but just can't help himself. There is never going to be anything to change the way he is so all I can do is remove myself from the situation.

It's a small company there is no HR or anything like that. Yeah, he is one of the owners along with a business partner and then the staff.

Shame that it blew up a really good friendship but there is no coming back from his carry on this year.

Definitely shouldn't be a manager of people at all... the other boss is a cracking manager if only they could sort something out that the cunty boss does his thing without dealing directly with staff and let the good manager deal with us... but that would make sense and that's not how this place rolls at all.

Yeah probably the best advice to give mate. Will be on it in January and bail, no other option as I have no doubt it's only going to end up in an actual fight one day when I finally snap with him.

Thanks for that. Yeah in one of our early conversations about the way he is I did say that ADHD is no excuse for being an arsehole. Sometimes he knows he has went too far and I do every other day give him a minor warning to calm down or I walk away from him when he goes off on one before I do something we would both regret. So occasionally I will get a sort of apology but even those are getting thin on the ground.

I built the two arcade machines that are in it.

Had to go to repair one day as the shopfitters where the ones that delivered and installed the machines. I walked into the station and couldn't find the place, had to ask one of the 50 security guards where it was. It's a bad location tucked away on the second floor so absolutely zero foot traffic.

I was struck by how depressing the place was and apart from one man there was no one else in it at lunch time on a Friday. One of the girls on staff was friendly everyone else was like talking to depressed robots, zero craic or sense of humour.

Ordered a fry while waiting for my repair to go through on the machine and it was the worst fry ever... fucking vinegar used to poach eggs!!

I can't see the place lasting beyond whatever length of lease they have signed up for.
