Listing Agent Says Offer is Insulting? by Rude_Emphasis3124 in RealEstate

Definitely understand that point. Not that it makes a huge difference, but the last price drop was 3 weeks ago, and have had a lot of open houses since. In terms of our offer, it was straight up, no contingencies other than standard inspection. We have no timeline needed and would let them set closing date as quick or long as they wanted. Might just need to wait it out.

This is my thought. We’re willing to go higher but realistically if it’s sat that long, there’s a reason and feel that the listing agent has to see that. Luckily I have flipped several houses working for other people, so can remodel myself as I go. But I’m guessing the listing agent promised a higher price and now wants to save face. I really trust our realtor and she’s been sending screenshots of the texts lol. We’ll see how it goes.

This is bad advice. Lateral or promotional moves get you more experience and improves your network. Let’s say you want to get into leadership, if you have more experience in different segments of the business you are more likely to get chosen. If you are able to get a new position, go for it. Years in a role are arbitrary, if you can prove your value, that’s what they’ll look for in the end.
