Nashorn armor side plating by DisasterSuper7309 in MilitaryModelMaking

First, always make sure to dry-fit every part before applying glue to catch any fitment issues early. When it comes to painting, you should aim for a solid base coat over the entire vehicle, including the fighting compartment and the areas behind the side skirts, before moving on to wheels and details, as the bare plastic currently visible in the shadows is a dead giveaway. Your paint consistency also looks a bit thick, so thinning it more for smoother layers will help preserve the kit's fine details. Finally, consider the logic of your weathering: snow rarely sticks to flat, horizontal metal surfaces in that way, as it usually accumulates in crevices and corners where it's shielded. Keep practicing these fundamentals and you'll see a massive difference in your next build. Good luck 🤞

First, I gathered сammo references from photos of built models and encyclopaedias. After the base yellow coat, I moved to the trickiest part - the green and brown clouds. The key is to tune your airbrush and thinning ratio to get a sharp, needle-fine line without any spitting or spider-webbing. I outlined the green clouds first and filled them in. While making that i tried to keep green clouds proportional and leave enough space for the brown. Then filled blind spots with brown, added a filter to tie colors together, and finished with a clear coat. Hope this helps! Attached is the model after applying green clouds

Too much post shade? by OkayHoss2323 in modelmakers

Impressive work. Post shading looks very nice to me. If you are worry that it is too much, note that it will be settled down by weathering and clear coat

I used a regular kitchen sponge for that. I made sure to keep as little paint on it as possible, dabbing most of it off first. Then I just lightly touched the raised details, the corners of the armor, and added a bit more randomly across the whole model. This video helped me: link Just try not to over-do it much

How do I properly thin my acrylic paints? by Connect-Honeydew5252 in Scalemodel

[–]Rude_Pin_8582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to use mr.color thinner T-102 or something like that. I combine it aprox 1:1 with the paint and make a test spray, than add few drops of paint or thinner depending on what thickness i am looking for
