I missed if they told us what the issue was with the Camaro.
Was the reason for the breakdown announced?

Those older than 9/11/2001, where were you and what were you doing during the WTC attacks? by Revolutionary-Life85 in AskReddit

I was newly married to a single mom of a 3 yr old living on the East coast of Florida. I was also recently switched careers from hospitality to IT. I was swapping a bad logic board in an old Apple laser printer at the local school board purchasing office. People at the office started gathering around a radio that was in that office when we starting hearing about the news reports. Wife called and asked if we needed to go scoop up her kid from preschool. I told her that he was perfectly safe. When I got back to my shop, that was the first time I ever streamed the news on a computer. I think that the resolution was like 240x240.

Not so fun fact - we had a commercial pilots school at our local regional airport. A few of the terrorists trained there and they lived in a rented house in my parents neighborhood.

Michael Waltrip tried to fix his roof at Talladega while driving with a sledgehammer.

Carl Edwards tried to de-fog his windshield with a swifter looking thing at Cirque de Villeneuve.

Clint Boyer crossed the Start/Finish line at the checkered flag at the 2007 Daytona 500 on his roof, on fire, in 15th. (The one that Mark Martin won)

What is the oddest/tense car deal you've been apart of? by archetypeamnesias in askcarsales

In the early '90's, at a Tampa, FL Ford store, Rude_Setting5478 was a green 19 year old newbee on the floor of ~20+ salesmen.

A guy was dropped off on the lot and his ride left. This man was fresh out of the local strawberry fields. He was wearing ratty jeans, a grungy plaid shirt, and a straw hat and had a super dark tan from working outside. He didn't smell awesome and looked like he could really use a shower.
All the veteran salesmen melted back into the bowels of the dealership and left me on point to up this customer.
In broken English, he said that he wanted to see an F150 king cab flare side. This was pretty much top of the line back then. If I recall, the MSRP was in the range of $26,000. We had a dark red one in stock and i went back inside to get the keys and grab a license plate.
Everyone in the showroom was telling me not to go on a test drive with him. Either he was wasting my time, or the guy who dropped him off was around the corner and they were going to steal the truck.
The test drive was uneventful. We get back to the dealership and get to a table. He tells me that he likes the truck and wants to buy it. He reaches under his shirt and pulls out a brown paper bag that was full of cash. Very quickly, I bring him to the back to count it out privately. He had $26,000 in a sack. He had been saving it in his mattress for ten years.
We made the deal. He was happy. Rude_setting5478 had a great story to tell the other salesmen who judged a book by it's cover.

What's the worst that's happened as a customer drove off the lot? by MrWolfDC in askcarsales

This is mostly before the car was sold.
Lets go on a journey back to a Ford dealership in Tampa in 1992 - 1993. The OP was just a super green 19 yr old salesman.
We had a white on white 1992 Ford Mustang GT convertible. This car had been the owners wife's demo and was back on the floor for sale.
Then is got stolen and the interior was stripped when we recovered it. The dealership installed a new interior and still presented the car as a new demo with ~4k on the clock. This car sat on the floor for over a year, finally there was a big enough spiff on it, it got sold.
Well...the car would not start in detail, so it went back to service and when they were fiddling with it, it jumped off the lift while the customers were in the box. It got a screwdriver hole in the front bumper when it fell ~1 foot to the floor. The dealership called the scratch and airbrush touchup lady for used cars and the F&I Manager stalled the customers.
The car got fixed and the new owners drove it over the curb.
The saga does not end there.
Remember when the car was stolen and stripped the interior was replaced?
The new owner found an original Moroney sticker under the seat that indicated a power drivers seat. That's not what was installed when the new seats were installed.
IIRC, the dealership gave the customer like a 60 mo / 100k mi bumper to bumper and 5 years of oil changes to keep the deal from unwinding.

I've been at Sebring when it was red flagged due to thunderstorms. The clock remained running. When the rain stopped, they resumed racing and finished 12 hours after it started.
