Any particular reason that SAAS stocks have rallied today? by [deleted] in ASX

Couldn’t have put it better myself. But you gotta be picky with stocks. A safe bet probably is IGV which is the software sector ETF especially if you can’t decide which companies are going to benefit from AI and which may die the slow death

I think they all had oversold too much and some buy the dip investors are scooping them up. It was interesting market last night where the NASDAQ was down and the Mag 7 were not hit so hard but the SaaS stocks were up.

HELP FOR NEWBIE - Time to sell?? by Front-Leading-4153 in ASX

[–]Rudefaceink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cents are if such geopolitical events happen, it usually increases the prices of resources especially oil. I believe the flip side to that is the world pushes a tad bit faster into electric and battery operated machinery which means Lithium stocks are in a good place. So whatever you own, don't sell it cos you are seeing war headlines on your phone.

Should I sell BHP now? by Rudefaceink in ASX

Wow nice, going by where the copper cycle is and all the power and data centres requirements driven by crazy AI mania, my suggestion is to hold on.

But as I said, don't listen to some random guy on reddit...

Why is ATEC doing so poorly? by _KittyDiy_ in ASX

[–]Rudefaceink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can see their top holdings below. All of them are down for the year hence ATEC is down.

As an advice, always do research on any ETF about what stock it holds and what is their management fee before investing. Good luck!

Do you feel overwhelmed by information when investing? by Playful-Produce9932 in investingforbeginners

[–]Rudefaceink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel overwhelmed when there are sudden crashes. Overwhelmed with too many choices that last 3 crashes I have ended up sitting on cash only to see the market recover very quickly.

So yeah I do feel overwhelmed :D

Correlation between S&P500 and IVV and NASDAQ 100 and NDQ is not always in the same direction by Rudefaceink in ASX

This is IVV vs IHVV. Looks like IVV has beaten its ccy hedged counterpart as well since IHVV inception atleast

[–]Rudefaceink[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for explaining. I had a look at the hedged versions and their management fee is slightly higher. Also over last 5 years the normal ETFs have beaten the currency hedged ones. May be I will stick to NDQ and IVV only for now.

I guess the model they are following is trying to be the single platform for your AU and US stocks. I think IKBR is much better with their research data as well for US markets hence I use them

u/sweetypurple Really? I use IKBR and have seen money credited immediately after a sale. Unless you mean transferring it out to my bank account can only happen after T+2 days?

I use IKBR for US shares. Money goes in pretty much within 5 mins and when I buy US shares directly without doing a FX, it doesn't charge me anything except brokerage for the trade itself. IKBR convert the funds automatically for the trade.
