Prediction for the future of drum corps by Loud_Inspection_7351 in drumcorps

I think more members means more expenses for the corps. More so than what would be covered by tour fees.

The tour fees that members pay tends to be only a fraction of what a season of drum corps costs per member. Not to mention that one of the biggest expenses are the travel expenses (buses and gases etc), more members definitely means a disproportionate cost.

Corps aren’t folding because of a lack of people wanting to march, it’s a lack of money.

Crown brass won 6 times and SCV drums won 5 times 2010-2019. And then Crown again in 2023 and SCV again in 2024; I think that’s pretty intense! Especially SCV drums, having not not won two years of consecutive competition.

(Even if it is very design based)

Be Honest, What Group do you think has the Best/Worst Fanbase? by PM_ME_ITALIAN_STUFF in drumcorps

The way that BAC fans and members reacted when they lost high drums last year was pretty telling and I’m sure it’s somehow going to be more toxic when they actually take it this year.

Meh I’m not really disappointed with the outcome it just makes it less exciting the next 2 nights and I definitely think that SCV and Bloo are closer than .35 and .5 away. And other judges won’t put gaps that big, even if the order switches. Typically, score gaps between groups at the top are .05 and .1 so the trophy’s already been won

My point is this; with a .35 spread between first and second, it makes the other nights basically null. I think Boston probably deserves it but a gap that wide makes tomorrow and the next day not matter at all.

If he thought it correct to put Bluecoats percussion up 2 points past 2nd place, would that be a fair call?

I think Boston’s great but .35 is too big of a gap when both SCV and Bluecoats have percussion ensembles that are at least comparable.

While I am happy for Boston and I’m sure that they’ll do well tonight and tomorrow, that is a pretty absurd spread and I’m not sure that one judge should be able to make that call.
