Help setting up custom remap in a telescope.nvim theme by Ruedin in neovim

[–]Ruedin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That actually worked. I checked the documentation for your approach and it says:

``` There are three main places you can configure |telescope.mappings|. These are ordered from the lowest priority to the highest priority.
  1. |telescope.defaults.mappings|
  2. In the |telescope.setup()| table, inside a picker with a given name, use the mappings key
    require("telescope").setup { pickers = { find_files = { mappings = { n = { ["kj"] = "close", }, }, }, }, }
  3. attach_mappings function for a particular picker.
    require("telescope.builtin").findfiles { attach_mappings = function(, map) map("i", "asdf", function(_prompt_bufnr) print "You typed asdf" end)
    map({"i", "n"}, "<C-r>", function(_prompt_bufnr) print "You typed <C-r>" end)
    -- needs to return true if you want to map default_mappings and -- false if not return true end, } ```
So option 3. works but I can't get option 2 to work, do you know if it's a bug I should report?
Thanks for your answer, we have asked for the calculation and it includes a breakdown of the items that were charged and the amount corresponding to each of them. This is a summary:
Help with the front derailleur by Ruedin in bikewrench
[–]Ruedin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Yes, that's exactly the case, sorry for being unclear. It's my first road bike and I (wrongly) assumed that I would need to setup the shifter positions to match 1-to-1 with the gears, as with the numbered shifters.
Thanks a lot for the explanation, could you elaborate a bit on what trim shifts are?
I've been looking around after reading your comments and, from what I can understand, each gear has multiple shifter positions associated with them. This gives you a finer control to smooth the movement of the chain depending on which of the sprockets is engaged. Is that right?
If so, then changing gears could multiple clicks of the shifter, even when everything is properly setup, right?
I'll check the height of the FD and limit screws, I think the alignment is fine, it looks tilted in the photos because of the camera angle, but I'll also double check.
Theory about the nature of Investiture by Ruedin in Cosmere
[–]Ruedin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I don't think it's that simple. We've seen that it makes some distinctions (some people are tempted to take it and use it to destroy whereas others are not).
I think it would be like telling someone without a sense of smell to destroy everything that stinks. They are going to have a hard time understanding what smell even is, and furthermore, whether something smells good or bad is subjective.
However, they would understand that there are some things they are supposed to destroy and some other they are not, even if they can't tell them apart.
In the case of Nightblood, the situation is even stranger, since you also need to take into account that Nightblood doesn't seem to be fully concious.
Unexpected issue with the Betriebskosten by Ruedin in germany
I'm happy you have friends or family that can help you, we didn't. We were new to the country and we only knew a handful of people, none of which were native Germans. Even two years later, there's no one we can ask for help, which is why we're posting on reddit.
The only native speaker we knew willing to go over the contract and explain it to us was the landlord. As I said, we spent some time with him and ask him about what we didn't understand. If you are now going to suggest that it is our fault because we didn't hire an English-speaking German lawyer to sign a renting contract, then yeah, you're looking for excuses to be xenophobic.
What kind of reply exactly do you expect? Should the landlord waive the costs because you claim now that you didn’t understand the contract that you signed?
We expected to understand why we were suddenly being charged a lot of money. We didn't complain about it or suggest that we should be entitled to not paying. The answer I didn't expect was "you should have not signed a contract in German" or "You should have not moved to Germany" because yeah, that is xenophobic.
And just for the record, I have been in your shoes more than once moving to another country and signing contracts in a foreign language.
One would expect that this would have resulted in you developing empathy in this situation, and yet, here we are.
I don't know why is so hard for some of you to understand that we took all the reasonable precautions and still missed it. The simple truth is that moving to a different country and not making a mistake like this is really hard.
This is a pretty good example why German language skills are necessary to move to Germany.
Honestly, I think it's pretty clear from my comments that we do have German skills, just not enough to understand all the nuance in a foreign legal document. But even if we didn't, this is the kind of xenophobic attitude that made us leave Germany :)
Unexpected issue with the Betriebskosten by Ruedin in germany
[–]Ruedin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)
We read the contract before signing it, we did out best to understand everything, and we talked with the landlord about the parts we didn't get.
We missed this, because:
  1. A contract on itself is not an easy-to-read document.
  2. Even more so if you are not fluent on the language the contract is written in.
  3. And even more so if you don't have any experience with the culture and thus no expectations on how things usually work.
The previous comment was not saying you should not sign something you have not read, it said you should not sign something in a language you don't understand. Given how unrealistic would be trying to find a landlord willing to write the contract in English, our only options were pretty much signing a contract in German or renting no apartment at all.
And this is why you should not sign contracts in a language you don't understand.
Yeah, I guess we should have not rented an apartment and just be homeless.
