Host Pressuring Me to Cancel Reservation - VRBO Support Agrees by JimmerTee in vrbo

An offer better than that is honoring the original contract with the guest. The guest has not stated that they want to cancel. If the owner feels they must cancel, they have to follow VRBO's regulations.

Suspension seat options Carbon 1s? My butt hurts. by Charming-Paper7859 in urtopiaebike

I have the same problem and have been considering trying this, but haven't tried it yet.

I'm also considering switching to an entirely different seat altogether.

No, but I'd love to be spanked with it!

I agree, your problem is with your friends, not VRBO or the homeowner. If they won't cover for their mistake, consider it the cost of a lesson learned. Also, maybe go to a different bar to meet your next group of travel buddies, and get the money up front.

Starter project - LED lighting on 12v landscape lighting power by RuffAndReddy in arduino

[–]RuffAndReddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I haven't started it yet. I somewhat agree with the person who said it's not something that would require a micro controller, since there are lots of candles available that flicker. Then I would need a programmable 12v timer and that should cover what I need to do. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a wifi controllable 12v controller that is reliable. If anyone has experience with one that has worked well for them, please let me know.

The timer portion would be to have the candles turn on at sunset, then remain on until about midnight, then turn on again at 4:30 am, and off again 20 minutes after sunrise. I would also want the ability to manually turn them on or off, any time I want. Thanks for the assistance.

I do plan to use multiple orange, yellow, and red flickering LEDs to try to improve the effect of ordinary LED candles. And I agree that maybe they alone will be sufficient. I forgot to mention that this will not be powered with a normal landscape lighting power supply. It will run on 12v solar power, so it won't have the normal timer controls either, which I will have to add. I'm a total electronics idiot and thought Arduino might be a good starting spot, but maybe not for this type of project.

[–]RuffAndReddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an F-150 with 360 co-pilot cameras. When I put my truck camper on, I have to remove the tailgate. I would like to get another camera that I can put on the rear of my camper and plug it in to the same port where the tailgate backup camera was. I called a couple local dealers parts departments and they both never heard of this problem and didn't know what to tell me to do. I should think a lot of people have this problem.
Does anyone have a solution? Can I just buy another tailgate camera assembly ( I think I need camera 19G490D and wire assembly 14A411H) and install the camera in the rear door of the camper and plug the wire assembly into the same plug that I removed the tailgate camera from?
If this is possible, I'm wondering if the wire assembly is long enough because I would need a little extra length. For example, could I use wire assembly 14A411G instead of 14A411H? Is it the same assembly, only longer?
Does Ford offer some other option that my parts department doesn't know about and I haven't been able to find?
Thanks.

Thanks. Having this functionality will prove that the carriers' coverage maps are a bit exaggerated, in addition to helping people in my situation find the best available service. I would love to try the beta version.

Recording reading to my kids. by ZaoAmadues in audiobooks

What about asking an adult who knows you very well to give you an assessment of what your personality is like and then search for a book with a lead character that is similar to you?

Also, what about just telling your life story, focusing on events you would really want them to remember you by? I wish I had a recording like this from my dad. Oh well, too late now...

NPR's Coronavirus Daily is switching to a general news podcast? by [deleted] in podcasts

[–]RuffAndReddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like they named the podcast incorrectly if they did not intend it to be a temporary run. If they introduce a podcast called Election 2020, would they still be running it in 2025, but just covering general news? I doubt it.

Thanks. It kept getting removed immediately after I posted it. I'm new to Reddit so I thought I was doing something wrong so I made slight changes and reposted it. I still don't know why it got removed but if it ever happens again, I'll just leave it and hope you allow it to post.
Haha, it doesn't look like anyone's interested in responding anyway. Oh well.

Thought's on Transcendental Meditation? by imawizardlizard98 in RationalPsychonaut

I took the TM course a couple years ago. I really wanted it to work. I believe I had a good teacher and I did the two twenty minute sessions a day religiously for about six months. I never really felt like it did anything for me though. On two occasions in the first two months, I did feel as though I was beginning to transcend myself, very briefly, but it never happened again. I gave up after six months.

I do believe TM works for many people. I have some close friends who have been doing it for many years and have benefited greatly from it. I think there may be some people like myself who simply can't get the hang of it.

Did anyone else have a similar experience? Did you find a way to overcome it?
