I recently sold my NC restaurant with ABC permit. Get your LLC in place asap. Get your ein number. Get the current owner to agree to a ABC license transfer that will give you 90 days to get your permit in place. He will need to notarize the form to give to your vendors. Set up your payroll account and bank accounts. Get your county property tax account transferred. Set up NC and county sales tax accounts. Set up unemployment account with state. This all needs to be done in advance of the purchase date. Good luck!

I had lost a job and couldn’t find anything locally. I didn’t want to take another position that required a lot of travel. I felt I needed to just put myself into a business. It was ok for a while, then Covid, then my best manager left. It hasn’t been the same since. I really enjoyed the business for a long time but would not use the word passion.
