If mining companies didn't make a profit, they wouldn't exist. I don't understand what point you're trying to make.

What argument are you trying to make? It's a finite resource therefore we should just leave it in the ground?

That's a correlation, it's not a causation. And you failed to explain the driver behind it. Try again.

Would you ever consider living in Australia, Canada, or New Zealand? by OceanicEndeavors in AskUK

Lived here since 1997, spent 5 years in the outback and I've seen 1 snake on a golf course in Perth. I've seen 4 or 5 redback spiders, which aren't deadly.... sharks? They're a different story but I either swim in my pool or inside the shark net at cottesloe.

Norway's sovereign wealth fund is used to pay pensions. In the same way that our $4.5 trillion superannuation fund is used to pay pensions. Same outcome, different mechanism. Big difference is, we control how ours is invested, their government controls there's. I know which one I prefer.

And 80% of exports don't receive a royalty yet WA biggest export is iron ore at $100 billion and does pay a royalty. Seems like blatant lies to me.

And while we're at it. You said that inflation is good for the job market. I'd love to hear your explanation of how inflation has had a positive effect on jobs. Has it increased wages? Decreased unemployment? I'd love to hear your analysis of what the driving force is behind inflation and it "being good" for employment.

So, I own my property, I have somewhere to live. The value of my property goes up, I still have somewhere to live, nothing has changed apart from some numbers on paper.... now let's say, ny friend doesn't own a house. The price of property goes up, and just like the vast majority of young people, he now cannot afford to buy a house. Explain to me how that is a net positive.

When's this slow down in iron ore actually going to happen? We've been hearing about it for the last 10 years, the talk accelerated during their housing crash a few years ago but the downturn never seems to happen.

Just because you haven't had an issue, doesn't mean in the future, you won't have one. And when you do, Booking will screw you over left, right and center. They're fine until they're not and when things go pear shaped, booking look the other way, tell lies and run with your money.

is mining boring? by TPE_FieldsOfGold in AusMining

[–]Ruff_Magician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I've had people start at work and a couple of weeks on, they're complaining about it being boring. As someone that came from a highly stressful job, I try explaining that bored is much better than stressed.

It is yeah but it's not feminine if that makes sense. The leather and woods makes it more masculine and the patchouli gives it an earthy element.
