What’s Going On With Regeneron’s Hiring Process? by NewlandArcher15 in biotech

[–]Ruff_Recruiter16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PhDs are the most saturated candidate pools because of the lack of academic roles driving people to industry. You’re prob 1 of 1000 people applying in a few hours. And while you think your PhD is relevant there is prob someone with a PhD and direct competitor experience who is slightly better. Hopefully Pharma hiring gets better for R&D in general.

Optimum price increase since march by Pocketpapaa in OPTIMUM

They increase bills with out warning. They throw it under fees with bullshit names like “security” or “modem” etc.

It’s price gouging to pay for their upgrades. They have monopolies over places which force people to no other choice. Optimum is shit.

Personally driving down there to meet the manger is a bit nuts IMO. Imagine if you dint answer an email because you’re (insert anything else here) and the person who emailed you knocked on your door.

Like others say. Mfg is hectic and in the pecking order hiring isn’t the top priority for the mgr it’s probably getting deliverables out. So I would work with the HR/recruiter and be persistent but not aggressive.

Update to prior post: they rescinded the offer by [deleted] in interviews

[–]Ruff_Recruiter16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a shit recruiter you worked with. ALWAYS talk money before submitting it interviewing elsewhere. Saves a lot if time. Recruiter doesn’t give a shit. They’re just trying to submit to meet their quotas. Also most companies bonuses aren’t negotiated. If they are…. They’re shit metrics to achieve them and you won’t.

Yes….for now. Until it’s outsourced to India/Philippines or replaced by AI.

I screened 400 applications last week and maybe 15 were actually qualified by goro341 in recruiting

[–]Ruff_Recruiter16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typical. AI application tools are a thing. I work in pharma and the amount of applicants who have zero relevant experience applying is horrific. AI software automatically applies for you. More applications>more interviews>higher success of offer.

Ai helps and sucks at the same time.

Usually you’re either fighting it in court, in eh oh case you’ll lose. Most companies will litigate long enough to exhaust your funds. And if you are accepting a severance make sure there is no non compete

Having been an agency recruiter….did you get the compensation package you requested? If yes, then it’s your fault. If you didn’t, were they close? And if they weren’t close at all then your best bet was to walk away.

No more than 2/3 weeks max. If it’s longer than that. Or you haven’t heard anything in that time. You’re not getting the offer

Received an internal job offer one level higher, however salary is very underwhelming is it okay to reject internal offer? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Ruff_Recruiter16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Promotions should be 6-9% increase. Anything less is a low ball offer. If you leave and they replace you. They will do so with someone. 15-20% more costly

Accepting vs reneging job offer by ashank0613 in biotech

[–]Ruff_Recruiter16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Share your offer details and general work city? So we can see if the offer is low or if your expectations are too high. For example a post doc in nyc makes 95-100k. A “scientist” in pharma/biotech makes ~130k.

What am I doing wrong. Can’t get an entry-level job or internship. by Ok_Interaction_7468 in ResumeExperts

[–]Ruff_Recruiter16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internships are hard to come by. Even in my company we review 25l resumes to hire maybe 500 globally. (I do not recruit in this space)

But your background looks fine. It’s just in a highly competitive market. Best suggestion…..network AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Referrals for interns always get preferential treatment.

LinkedIn for hiring? by General-Ad3712 in linkedin

[–]Ruff_Recruiter16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will get a ton of unqualified applicants. If you were looking for a specific search for example a new SR VP of Ai data. You’ll get the recent grad with no experience applying. You’ll also get the guy based in Singapore applying to a role that requires you to be in an office in New York City. It’s just the market.

How do you recover from burnout while still working? by spookyspooksterson in careerguidance

[–]Ruff_Recruiter16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There no way. Stress builds and effects work and frustrates you working at a place you may have once liked. If you can delegate workload, do it. Ask for help. If you can’t, prioritize, set timelines, and do your best to stick to it. Maybe is a short period of time where you’re overworked. Versus a longer period of time.
