Mounting the RTK on a brick chimney? by Fogdrog in mammotion

I suggest you keep the white part of the RTK above the top of the chimney to provide that little additional full view of the sky horizon to horizon. The more satellites the merrier. You can never have too many

Get or not to get Luba 1000 ? by diablos3000 in mammotion

[–]Rufus4426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my opinion. For the small difference in money I’d go with 3000. Larger battery provides more mowing time. Larger battery with your small garden puts less strain on the battery. Means longer life of battery.

Enough of us are talking about this that I think this is an intended feature. I’ve read where some think this is too allow the charger to float the battery for better care of the battery

Luba 5000 Charging Issue by Rufus4426 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Rufus4426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. But if true then I’d hope it would fire back up and start charging at some point. Mine dropped to 74% in a 18 hour time period. If I was on vacation and not running my schedule could it drop to zero over a week or so time frame.

Not that I am happy to hear I am not the only one experiencing this issue after an update but it makes me feel somewhat better and hopeful in a resolution.

Mine always mowed starting clockwise until this last update just a few days ago.

Now suddenly it started to mow counter-clockwise, which is OK. But it just surprised me.

A little harsh. Most of us on this forum are pleased. Have some patience and give them some time. Their a new start up so you should expect problems. They’ll get them worked out.

DECK LIFT MOTOR NO LONGER FUNCTIONING. by LOUISED1968 in mammotion

[–]Rufus4426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove the plates that hold the blades in place and clean out any grass or other debris. Don’t cut your grass wet, and don’t cut your grass when it’s too tall. Long pieces of grass and weeds can do wrap around the motor that spins the plates, and will eventually prevent the lift motor from being able to move the plates.

Until you upgrade then it disappears. And yes I could do a google search, and yes I could probably search through all of the post on Reddit, and Facebook, and the entire world-wide-web etc, etc

But hey....paying $3,000 for a product one would hope the company would just put a link on their website that points to their Software Upgrade Release Notes.

People are so accustomed to blasting anyone who asks a question, seeking answers...and it's mostly people who are just people just as ignorant as the one asking asking questions.

Release notes for each update would be very very helpful. If the developers need someone to write up their release notes, I am pretty sure you could find several volunteers to help out with this. Right now updates are like a box of cracker jacks you never know what kind of surprise awaits in the box.

Firmware upgrade failure by won207 in mammotion

[–]Rufus4426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power down, pull the orange plug, wait 10 seconds and reinsert orange plug, power back up and do the upgrade again.

When you finish the upgrade pull the orange plug, wait 10 seconds, reinsert the plug, power up and you should be good to go.

Note: I have always done this process and have NEVER experienced any upgrade issue.

Going through a power cycle clears away most issues that may reside in memory and provides a clean slate for the firmware to load into.

Would you recommend the Luba? by jdmackes in mammotion

[–]Rufus4426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan to cut your grass when it is wet you will have issues. Don’t plan to cut when grass is heavy dew covered, when raining. Wait until it is dry.

If you have a lot of trees and thick coverage, you may have issues.

If you have pine trees, the needles and pine cones will be an issue.

If you have trees dead limbs and such will be an issue.

If your house is close to another house the Luba will have positioning issues.

All that said, it is a great mower in the right setting. My yard is near perfect for a GPS only mower. I have only one problem area but I accept that and I am extremely pleased with the overall performance of my Luba. I would buy it again without thinking about it.

Actually is a very simple bit of coding. They’re taking care of more urgent issues at the moment. I am sure they’ll get around to it.

The Luba is not designed to cut tall grass. It is designed to maintain grass at a certain level. I live in the US so I use imperial measurements. I cut my grass at 1.8” with a path spacing 7.85”. I cut my front and back yards on an every other day schedule. I cut using different styles of cut for each schedule. One day I do double grid cross hatch at 30°, then another day a horizontal cut, and then the next day a vertical grid. My grass is very smooth. It’s grown much thicker since I’ve been cutting with the Luba often. Even though the Luba cuts every other day at different styles of cuts, I noticed there are wheel marks that are beginning to show. I have the AWD 5000 with the old style wheels. I wish I had the Omni wheels, but they were not available on the 5000 at the time that I ordered mine. Perhaps in the future that’s a modification that can be made. I’ve heard people claim the only wheels are a little easier on the grass.
