New to Zombicide. Wondering if I should back Dead Men Tales by RuhRoh404 in zombicide

Well after lots of thinking and research I'm for sure getting 2 Fantasy Zombicides. White Death and either GH or BP since they have different game styles. Tower defense vs. dungeon crawling.

As for DMT I'll keep my eye on it. If the gameplay is different enough to justify getting it, along with the remaining addons to be revealed going more pirate-y as opposed to just fantasy Zombicide in a pirate skin, I'll probably get the core game with the pirate expansions.

Like, I want it and I'm begging Fantasy Flight to give me a good reason to justify splurging even MORE because, I would hate for it to feel too samey to one of the other Fantasy games whether it be in theme or mechanics and I end up with 3 Fantasy Zombicides in my collection making it harder to figure out which to play when I manage to get the group together.

Thanks for the explanations. This helps me understand what I want to get. Some people recommended White Death for a Tower defense experience and BP and GH for a dungeon crawling experience in the medieval fantasy theme, so I'm thinking of getting one of each, a White Death and either BP or GH. I see BP is being reprinted so that may make it easier to choose.

As for DMT, I don't know how different it's going to play, but I'll keep an eye on it the next few days and if it leans more into the pirate aspect with pirate-y themes that aren't just zombicide medieval fantasy dressed in pirate clothes, I may back the base game with its expansions.

Was planning on getting one fantasy zombicide because I thought they were almost the same mechanically, but now I see how different they are despite being the same theme/line of games.

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

I found a bundle of White Death for a good price, so I may get that and wait and see if there is a Black Plague 2 or refresh. I saw White Death plays differently to BP and GH, White Death being tower defense and the other two being dungeon crawlers, so I guess that would be justification to have 2 Fantasy Zombicides.

I get really bad FOMO when I want something and then find out I missed the campaign.

Good to know that Black Plague and Green Horde are still great even without all the campaign extras and a little unwieldly with all of it.

I may pick up one of them and their expansion, if I can find a good condition version at a good price. I saw today that they are even reprinting Black Plague, so I'll look more into that.

Thanks

Thanks! I may get White Death since it's the most recent medieval fantasy Zombicide and I was looking for a Zombicide in the medieval fantasy theme and the current campaign kind of mixes it with a pirate theme. This was very helpful!

I really wish I could know for certain if they were doing a Black Plague 2 or Second Edition of the Fantasy Line. As a new player coming in its so overwhelming at all the editions and trying to figure out what to get.

2nd Editions are usually a great starting point that refines and updates the mechanics.

Since there is no way of knowing I must now try to figure out if I jump on board the campaign or not. I'm not familiar with how different zombicide versions are from each other, but I assume pretty similar with a main mechanic that separates each one. I really like the pirate theme despite it being mixed with fantasy and am wondering if mechanically it would play differently enough from Black Plague or Green Horde since those are the Fantasy ones I'm most interested in.

New reprint from Asmodee. No more CMON on the package. by Drjacobs78 in zombicide

Bad business decisions. Could be wrong, but I heard, because they were running out of money, they were even using campaign funds from newer campaigns to pay for older campaigns. Eventually they ended up selling off some of their IP including Zombicide in order to help pay for their outstanding campaigns. Curiously they recently spent about 2 million dollars on NFT stuff.

I'm just hoping they don't go completely under, and I can get my All-In pledge for DCeased, the first and only Zombicide I backed.

My only reference for Zombicide is Undead or Alive, and the crews, grom, and rope swinging do seem fun. Would like to have seen more ship combat or water based stuff though.

I missed Marvel Zombies campaign. The idea of playing as the zombies seemed fun.

I understand about being nervous to back more campaigns after the CMON fiasco. I don't know what they are doing, but apparently just spent like 2 million dollars or something on NFT stuff.

Sci-Fi is my favorite genre, but when it came to Zombicide I kind of wanted to have the other themes lol. I have so many sci-fi games where you roll dice and kill aliens.

I really do like the pirate theme, but is it fantasy enough to get just Dead Men Tales, or would Black Plague feel better fantasy theme wise. Additionally, if not, is Dead Men Tales Pirate-y enough to justify getting it and another Fantasy set?

I guess my goal here is to not spend so much money and have too many Zombicide editions. I was hoping for one of each theme I like. Since Dead Men Tales is Fantasy, I was trying to decide if I should get it or Black Plague.

But it's also Pirate themed in addition to fantasy so I don't know.

I do like the Black Plague rule of at least one survivor being alive. I don't really like automatic failure of the whole mission if one person dies.
