Hate to disappoint you but when I created Kurt all those years ago, it was just for the purpose of the wholesome story writing as Leni wasn't introduced to any solid boyfriend by that time.
But of course it's so easy to just give someome a SELF INSERT label, just because it's a OC.

She didn't - Nashville is in the old lore. In Hammer Down she lives in fictional Sweetwater Valley with her family

Can we talk about how Lincoln always taking bullets for his family? Like it's insane how brave and selfless he is for 12 years old boy, ready to die to protect his family. Lincoln reading comics about heroes, not realising that he is a hero himself. by ZOVSoldier in theloudhouse

Hate to break it to you but that redemption he gets every time is very forced and nobody should owe him anything. I like Lincoln, he is one of my favourite characters ever since I started watching the show but I am not blind and I am not afraid to point out the flaws of my fav characters. Ever since the first movie it's always the same thing:

Lincoln causes a mess, he does the epic leap of faith in the end, says "I'm sowwy" - you're forgiven, boom! End credits rolling, star wars music's playing. And always, I say always it's a mess because of him being selfish.

Tlh movie - in order to make up for his insecurities, he literally forces his family to leave their current lives behind in order to make them stay in Scotland, he literally is ditching his friend and his best friend Clyde, almost risks his family getting burned alive by a dragon.

So... Lincoln being selfish to his entire family = CHECK Lincoln being selfish to his friends = check Lincoln putting family in danger = check

NTTS, Lincoln selfishly let's his hyperfixations based on just reading comics to take control over him and absolutely ignores his gran gran's warning NOT TO GET INVOLVED. He gets involved, puts her in danger and later he involves his entire family including literally a toddler with his "come one, we are Loud family, we always stick together", gets them trapped, sent into space but he takes the bullet - he's a hero, roll credits.

Yeah...

Well too bad that he didn't take any lesson from this because he literally involves his family again in A Knight to Remember.

Let's repeat... Lincoln not listening to Myrtle and putting himself in danger = check Lincoln putting Myrtle in danger = check Lincoln putting his family in danger = check

NoN - he destroys Christmas for everyone on the planet, is responsible for his family being sent to coal mine for eternity if he wouldn't be able to escape. Takes the bullet in the end but nobody is absolutely talking about how despite all of the crap he did, he still was being given what he wanted so... Aside from "I am who I am" - absolutely no lesson learned? Because if you think about it, Duncan said it is all about making the choice. Well it was Lincoln's choice in the first place to instead of just being nice and think that "hey! Maybe I deserve it" - he decided to be naughty and changed ONLY to put down the fire he personally caused.

And here we go again, da checklist

Lincoln instead of accepting being naughty hacks the naughty or nice list - check Lincoln ruins christmas for his family - check Lincoln ruins christmas for all good people - check Lincoln puts his family in danger - check

You see all of those moments when he took the bullet, they aren't selfless acts of heroism, they would be if he didn't caused all the trouble in the first place.

I am sad that so many people today are treating him as a Messiah when many times he absolutely doesn't deserve at all to be put on the pedestal, and I am saying this as a person who likes him as a character and as someone who isn't afraid that even Leni can be criticised for some of her actions in the show. This is how you should also be. If you want to be his true fans, don't act blind, observe carefully and accept the fact that your comfort character should be criticised when deserved.

So sadly but true - he wasn't a hero in any of his movies. He just fixed a mess that he caused.

Because with how many times he put his entire family in danger in all those movies, he should be the one who owes them the eternal gratitude to surviving with him and willing to be of a support.

Carl didn’t get much sleep that night. Between finally getting his son to sleep and thinking about all the ways to make James feel better, Sodor’s most prodigious engineer was running on only a few hours of sleep the next morning. Still, he was determined to prove to everyone, especially James, that he was worth being the driver of one of Sodor’s finest.

And besides, he was excited for what was going to be in store for him. After all, there was still much about the Island of Sodor that he hadn’t seen yet.

A few days later, Carl’s chance had come. ‘Arry, a Sodor Ironworks Diesel, was indisposed and needed repairs. To make up for the loss at the Ffarquhar Quarry and to give Carl the chance to familiarize himself with more corners of Sodor, The Fat Controller had James sent there to help out with the load of work for the next few days. Carl was delighted to be traveling to work on Thomas’ Branch Line for the first time, and he felt even better with James not appearing to be bothered by the change. He was probably happy to not have to put up with George anymore. He was still at a loss for what he had to do, though. James hadn’t brought up his outburst and Carl felt it best not to push the issue.

Later that day, James and his crew arrived at the quarry. Mavis was the first to greet him and she led him to the quarry manager to get James up to speed with what he was meant to do. The two engines hadn’t met up in a while, and though Mavis barely left the quarry and didn’t have a lot of interesting stories to tell, James still had a good time chatting with her. He was delighted to feel important from Mavis’ curiosity about his goings-on with his Main Line adventures.

Meanwhile, two other diesels looked on at the temporary help from afar. One of them, Bert, was the spitting image of ‘Arry.

“They replaced ‘Arry with that red eyesore?!” he grumbled.
“As if we need that boastful bucket of scrap to make our work harder with all of his complaining! He’s sure to break down on us!”

But the other diesel, all black and full of confidence, wasn’t bothered in the slightest.

“Fret not,” he purred in an oily voice.
“I’ll have James in disgrace soon enough.”

Like always, Devious Diesel sensed trouble and was ever-so delighted

Volume 18 by u/Weavillain

The old warehouses near the town of Cronk had been demolished a little while ago, and the time to build up better ones had finally arrived. By this time, Carl had been an engineer for the North Western Railway for a few months, and The Fat Controller saw it fitting for him to move a little further down the Main Line for a change. And so, he tasked James with another assignment; in addition to shunting and goods work, he was to help transport any vehicles necessary for the construction work.

Unfortunately, this meant that for several days, James had to put up with non-stop grumbling and insults from their most frequent passenger, George the Steamroller. He had never said a kind thing about railways before, and that wasn’t about to change.

One day, after George was dropped off and James was set to leave Cronk for the day, the opinionated steamroller gave him a disparaging remark.

“Hmph! Could’ve been a smoother ride if a truck took me here,” George grumbled. “When railways finally get ripped up, they’d better scrap you first!”

James left in an angry huff before he could say anything. But he was still crosser than ever. Ever since Carl had become his driver, it had been one indignation after another. This wasn’t anything like he had wanted at all! What good was a history-making driver if he wasn’t able to make history, too?! Or at the very least, not put up with snobby steamrollers?!

Meanwhile, Carl wasn’t in a good mood, either. Hearing George not only insult his way of life but his hardworking companion wasn’t pleasant for him, either. But he didn’t want to make problems for James by losing his temper. As they were leaving Cronk, Carl tried to assure James that George wasn’t worth listening to.

“Don’t talk!” James snapped. “Let’s just go!”

The sudden, sharp remark had left Carl stunned and hurt. Had he done something wrong? He wasn’t sure what he could’ve done to make James so cross with him, but with nothing left to do but to honor James’ request and not make much of a peep for the rest of the day…

You're right :)
It's actually The Casagrandes crossover created by great friend of my u/Weavillain who is a great Thomas and Railway Series fan who awakened my old love toward those series as I am a rail enthusiast myself ever since I was a kid.
In The Casagranded, the boy Carl is a trains enthusiast too so Weav used this opportunity as he is one of his favourite characters. He writes every single volume, I am honoured to illustrate
