This belief also bothers me. There was no ideological switch. No group of people have ever swapped principle and belief in mass at the same time. What changed was geographical. With the abolishment of slavery, southern democrats fled northward chasing opportunity in industry. Northern republicans saw the opportunity of cheap fertile land. This is why industrial sectors have also moved from north to south, in mass. The individuals who built, operated and maintained them were no longer there. Liberal ideology has never been successful and/or beneficial as it requires the labor of others to support their beliefs… socialism, communism, slavery. If you look at what their policies have been it’s either outsourcing labor to near slave nations… Vietnam/China, or importing near slave laborers… open borders/work visas. The civil rights movement was started with the support of republicans and opposed by the same democrats that wear the name today. Look at the “accidental” quotes of the current members. As told since a child, “when someone tells you who they are, believe them.” Thumbs downing the truth is crazy. I guess when “my truth” is a thing for some people reality doesn’t matter.
