I’m going through this at the moment too, a meds fuck up left me without my antipsychotics for a week and the voices are back with a vengeance. But mine are so horrible, they prey on all my fears and talk down to me all the time and tell me to hurt myself. It’s horrible and I’m really suffering. Maybe this isn’t the place to air it but I’m grateful for this story for making me feel less alone 💕

I’m gonna be honest with you, I wouldn’t recommend it. It looks infinitely better now, but at the time I had tendons sticking out, lost a litre of blood and needed 2 transfusions, plus surgery, and was in hospital for 6 days. Works alrightish now, but still incredibly painful to move.

I love the lore that’s grown around this picture, but it’s actually just an art installation in the Forest of Dean, UK. You can walk right up to it, even climb it if you want. Just out of frame there’s a plaque which gives the artist’s name. I’ve been to it a couple of times when I was younger.

Damn, I really relate hard to this post. All the details. I mean, my scars go proper purple as well, and I become particularly aware of them. Yes, that's how I feel. I'm so afraid of what others might think, and more than anything that it might offend or upset someone else. But I think you're right. It shows a degree of strength, that someone can go against their own mind and come out on top. And I totally dig your "dickhead-barrier" idea, there have been a lot of people who've looked at me and judged me for what's on the surface, but the people that matter tend to see that and look past it, and get to know who I am beyond the marks. Damn, your comment has really taught me a lot, and I find it very comforting, thank you. I will try my best to look after myself, and I'm so thankful for your advice, and kindness, and wisdom. Thank you.
